NWR- I have to write a review of my

Assistant- and I s uck at doing this

I have no idea what to write- this is going to take a while

Break it down into categories. Give her/him a 1-5 score 1 being really bad and 5 being really great.

End the interview with comments about room for improvement and career possibilities.

You can come up with the categories based on what the job is. Is it administrative, project oriented..etc..

Depending on how good he/she is, I've found that combatting a negative comment with a positive has worked for me.

there is form I have to fill out- so I have to fit things in to certain parameters

he just started in August- so it's tough- I don't want to say I don't like him- b/c he has improved

The fact that he has improved is a positive factor...just rate him according to your company's standards and then add the positive factors and finally what he should work on in the future...

I have to say, whether you like him or not personally has nothing to do with his evaluation. If he has a weakness, you need to explain how he can imporve, try positive reinfiorcement. I have been doing staff reviews for years and they do S U C K
