I Need Help....FIL Gift Suggestions....

Ricky and I haven't the slightest idea what to get his parents.

My parents were easy - they travel often, so we got them a gift certificate towards a vacation of their choice....(about $500)

Now, for his parents, we have no clue what to get them....they don't like each other (and I use that term lightly) - they don't do anything together (ie: dinner, travel, sleep in the same bed) - yeah, I know...why be married then? All they do is smoke cigarettes all day and watch tv and bootleg movies....I know whatever gifts we give them, it'll have to be separate - one for FMIL, one for FFIL...obviously b/c they don't do anything together...

His father's a hunter - so I was thinking of getting him a gift certificate to his favorite hunting store/catalogue....we think it's impersonal...but hey, we're limited to so much....how's that sound? How much would be appropriate?

His mother - I was thinking of getting her an Amex gift certificate...she can use it however she pleases....again, impersonal...but we're limited. How much would be appropriate?

Does anyone have any suggestions to what we can get them/him/her?

My uncle is a hunter...very hard to get for...we got him a gift certificate for Dicks sporting in Roosevelt field..they also have a website...tons of hunting gear.. There is also a catalog, can't remember the name, something like Calabros??

Re: mom....do you know where she gets her hair done??? why not get a GC there?? It doesn't sound like she treats herself, maybe you can get her a nice necklace or bracelet.

MAYBE GO TO FORTUNOFF AND PICK SOMETHING OUT? EVERYONE LIKES JEWELRY

I think the hunting gc sounds good. As for his mom, maybe a gc to Nordstrom spa. Would she like something like that?

If you spent $500 total on your parents, I would spend $250 on each of his parents.

We're going to go with the GC for Dad....as far as the mom - she doesn't get her hair done or treat herself...she feels 'uncomfortable' (her words, not mine)...she doesn't have anywhere to go, so jewelry is also out of the questions....I think we're going to stick with a GC for her as well, just need to figure out to where...
