I could be wrong, but I don't think that RK Bridal has a store on LI. They do have two stores in the city. One is an outlet store on 82nd and the other is their big factory store on 39th.

I didn't think there was one on LI... My experience: I went because a magazine said that they had a dress I liked...well they didn't have it and then I had a lot of trouble seeing what type of dress I wanted...you really have to pick through dozens of racks...I told the woman helping me that I wanted sleeveless tanks under 1500 and she kept bringing me off the shoulders for 2000! I didn't find there prices that great and they use clips to make the dress fit (my bridal assistant pinned me so that it would look normal and wouldn't let me out of the dressing room until it was perfect) if you know what you want and can find it...it may be right for you... they do offer BM dresses that are less expensive, but they ship them and won't do alterations on them...

I do not think there is one on LI but I have been using the one in NYC and haven't had too bad of an experience with them. They have a lot of dresses and it is factory style. You won't get the personal attention of a small shop. Saturdays is pretty crowded and you need an appointment to get in the door on Sundays (new policy for busy season). I searched thru the racks and found dresses I liked, but when I began trying some on, my sales person recommended others that I liked that I didn't even see. They also had almost every dress I had a magazine picture of. I had a better experience when I worked with the older members of the staff (ask to get Gilda)...the younger girls used the clips and didn't seem to have the experience. As far as bridesmaid dresses they offer 2 choices (1) they size you and do your alterations or (2) they give you a sizing chart and you pick your size and you have to get your alterations done elsewhere (I was in a bridal party that chose this option and it was perfect for us). I have two good friends who got their gowns there and were very happy. PS Two woman who use to work at Saymels have been added to the staff at RK and are very helpful and experienced..that's who Gilda is.Welcome New Vendors
