Stretch marks HELP

I have had stretch marks forever – sine I was a young girl about 11 or 12. I guess from my growth spurts and/or my chubby frame and/or I just have bad elasticity – who knows! BUT Is there anyway to disguise them? Or reduce there appearance? Am I alone in this problem? They really aggravate me!

Yours truly
Stretched Out

Re: Stretch marks HELP

I have some around my hip area for forever too but they really don't bother me because they are so light. Are they really bad? I thought the only way to reduce the coloring was by laser but I've also seen something called StiVectin (I think it's called that) at dept. stores.

Re: Stretch marks HELP

Yes, Strivectin is supposed to be really good. I believe it reduces the appearance. It's sold at Macys and Ulta. Have you considered seeing a dermatologist? They might recommend something even better!

PS, I have them too. I think they're hereditary. I have them from gaining and losing weight. Even my FH has them! Don't feel too bad, even celebrities have them! It's normal!

Re: Stretch marks HELP

i'll admit it...i have them! (and i've never been over 115 pounds in my life) i think i got them cuz i was really involved in sports...who knows!

i used to be very self conscious about them, but as long as FH doesnt care...that's all that matters!

it's totally from sports....i was really into ballet and used to be 98 pounds (that's another story!) and I have a few fine ones on my butt from when it was much tinier! but who sees that besides DH?!

Re: Stretch marks HELP

They are not really bad ... I have a few that just really bother me because you can see them in a bathing suit. I just am super self conscious about my body (even when I was a young girl) and the marks really embarrass me. My FH says Im too sensitive and that no one would even notice but Im sure they would. Thanks for the advice ladies. Ill look into seeing a dermatologist and try that cream but it may be too late because I have had them for a while.

Re: Stretch marks HELP

The problem is in the summer my skin gets very tanned and I think the marks stand out even more. Yikes - to be a female in this world.

Re: Stretch marks HELP

the only proven things to help stretch marks are laser and retin a.

unfortunately everything else just helps the texture of the skin around the stretch marks. and i should know....if i could only tell you hwo much money i have spent trying to fix mine wiht other things.

the only saving thing is even my fh who is a twig has stretch marks so makes me feel a bit better.

xoxo jenn

I heard putting cocoa butter (they sell it in stick form) helps.

Re: Stretch marks HELP

I have stretch marks too, Justine - but I am very light skinned so they don't show so much - but at this point, they really don't bother me anymore....
