Pregnant BM question (again)

My sister is trying to get pregnant. If she does become pregnant she will be 8-9 months prego at my wedding. My problem is that I want to start looking at BM dresses in the next couple of weeks. Do we just order her a larger size or can we hold off ordering hers for a month or two to see if she does become pregnant or not?

Re: Pregnant BM question (again)

If I were you I would just order her a dress a couple of sizes bigger, it's easier to take the dress in then to take it out.

That's what we did for my sis-in-law... same situation.

Re: Pregnant BM question (again)

We didn't order my prego BM. You never know how big they'll be and if the dress has the slightest waist curve, it's most likely that they won't fit in.

Re: Pregnant BM question (again)

What you need to do is tell the store that she may be pregnant at that point and they will order her a size or 2 bigger, which can easily be cut down, plus, they also order extra panels dyed the right color that they can insert. My SIL did this for my wedding, unfortunately, she lost her baby

Re: Pregnant BM question (again)

I would wait, typically, BM dresses take 3-5 months.

Re: Pregnant BM question (again)

My FH's cousin had a similar issue with her BP (she had a long engagement and did the dresses early).

They bought the girl in the BP a maternity BM dress. I was wondering why at Christmas she didn't seem stressed to hear this news!

The dress store should be able to help you out.

Re: Pregnant BM question (again)

A size or two bigger dress won't cut it at 9 months. She needs to order a maternty style. A lot of companies make those.

Re: Pregnant BM question (again)

One of my BM got PG after the dresses where ordered and didn't tell me she was because she was in Paris for three months (up until the month before the wedding) and wanted to tell everyone when she came back. Anyway, she was over 5 months pregnant at the wedding and we were able to order extra material and they altered the dress the week before the wedding. They told us that, that is common.

HTH,
Kelly

I agree. You can look now, but I wouldn't order for a few months. That way, you'll have a better idea whether she gets pregnant and how far along she'll be.
