my parents are meeting the future in laws today - i'm nervous *** update

for the first time since we're dating my parents will be meeting all of FH's extended family. they've met his mother before and that went well but for some reason i'm nervous about today. my father could be a really tough cookie to crack and has somewhat of a difficult personality, basically it takes him awhile to like u so i'm just nervous today will be a total disaster just keep me in your prayers today that everything goes smoothly...thanks girls

My mom is the same way as your dad. She's very old school italian, and feels people out before she chooses to really speak to them. I was nervous when she met Darren's parents, but everything went really well. You'll be fine. We're all here if you need us!!

It is very stressful, but be yourself and try to stay calm because I'm sure everything will work out perfectly!

omg my parents were supposed to meet FH's parents today too! but we cancelled because FH's dad has bronchitis (sp?) and my mom wasn't feeling that hot...so i dunno when its going to be now but i'm so happy to have dogged that bullet for awhile

Dont be nervous-I practically poo'd my pants when my parents met the in-laws and they got along great!!!! Its nerve racking but it will be ok

hi girls - thanks for all your good wishes and support. i was so nervous yesterday but thankfully it went ok. i dunno if my parents will excatly get along great with the in-laws but it'll be a decent relationship which which is all i asked for. there's some differences between the 2 families which i won't get into and my parents obviously noticed them, but u know what they say u don't marry the family u marry the man, so i respect them, they respect me and that's all that counts. thanks again for your support

i am so happy it all worked out! It wont always be perfect but as long as they can get a long.. that's all that matters, plus like you said.. you aren't marrying the family, you are marrying your man!!
Mine are meeting my FIL's this saturday at our engagement party.. my parents live in florida so they haven't met yet.. should be interesting and fun!
