What are the best places to go in July??

Hi Everyone - I am desparately trying to get some different ideas for my honeymoon. I am getting married on June 30th and will likely leave for my honeymoon on July 2nd for 2 weeks.

I tend to like European and/or 'off the beaten path' travel destinations. I was really intent on going to Greece for my honeymoon, but reading some of the travel books it seems like Greece is completely overrun by European tourists in July and they all recommend if you can avoid it, not to travel there in July.

I was thinking of Italy, but I was there about a year ago, and although I really want to go to the Amalfi Coast, I have some relatives there and I don't necessarily want to feel obligated to hang out with family on my honeymoon

Have thought of Thailand, but it's their rainy season.

Was thinking of Hawaii, and although it's supposed to be amazing, I feel like it's a 'standard' honeymoon.

Any other suggestions??

One other thought I am having is to postpone our honeymoon and go during a month that is a better time to travel for one of our top destinations?? I don't know anymore - please help!!

July/August is beautiful in Costa del Sol.

it goes to athens, rhodes, santorini, mykonos, Kasadasi-in turkey,Istanbul, Venice, Rome

I know you said greece is busy- but you would be in lots of places
we would be on the same cruise since your wedding is one day before mine!

We're doing a Med cruise also...it leaves from Rome & goes to Naples, Florence, Venice, Sicily, Barcelona, Croatia and Cannes France. We are then going to Ireland. Hawaii would also be nice.

We are going to Tahiti - Bora Bora and Moorea. We leave July 3rd. FM if you want more info..

the french riveria is really nice. england is nice too, the weather isnt too hot.

The summer is tough (hurricanes)...I'm int the same boat. Some ideas:

South of France (I lived there for a summer - FANTASTIC)
Cabo
Hawaii
Tahiti/Bora Bora

if you like ' off the beaten path' kind of places, try virgin gorda in the british virgin islands... we went there and it was incredible!! ( we got married june25, so the same time of year)..... we stayed at the bitter end yacht club (www.beyc.com), but there is also a couple other all inclusive places- little dix bay and biras creek, too.
the island is small, secluded, not built up or 'touristy'.... just a great laid back place. our resort had little motor boars to take out, and almost everyday we would take one out over to one of the small islands nearby and go snorkeling and have the beach pretty much to ourselves... it was amazing! perfect for us, because we're more laid back and not too ' hoity toity'. the rooms at the resort could use some updating, but the mattreses were new and comfy, which is all that mattered because we were pretty much only in the room to sleep.... and the food was really good too! definitely worth lookin into...

Sounds great! What cruise line is this? What day of the week does it depart? Your cruise is going to the places we want to go but we're getting married on Sunday so we need a cruise to leave on Tues or Wed which I can't find.
