I'm a little upset!

No one is willing to come to the Filene's 'Running of the Brides' with me

My mother, sister, MOH (she's a 1st year teacher - has a valid excuse!) are all 'busy'.

I reallllly wanted to go, but I don't trust myself to choose a gown with no opinions. Plus, I won't be able to grab many on my own!

Its not like I wanted to go at 8am with all the crazies - I wanted to wait until lunchtime when things settle down

Oh well. I just feel UNLOVED!

I would go with you but I just made a desperately needed hair appointment. I also can be pretty vicous and would fight anyone for the perfect gown. I hope you do find someone to go with you.

I have a gown but im REALLY interested in seeing what its all about.. and its on my way home from work... so ill be stoppign by at like... 445-5 pm...

I had wanted to go gown shopping a couple of times and whenever I would ask my mom she always had something to do that day. So I decided to just make the appointments and write it on her calendar at work (we work together) and she's made it. Maybe they just really are busy that day.

if you're not willing to go by 8am then don't even bother sulking. i went for myself and 2 other fellow brides plus an extra friend at like 5am (i think.. could have been earlier). yes.. i'm one of those crazies. we were the second group there! the strategy was to have the friend stand guard teh accumulated pile of wedding dresses by me and the other 2 brides. once we were satisfied we quickly tried on our dresses. to be honest, we really did not like the dresses we chose. we took these dresses cuz everyone was going NUTS by taking all teh dresses off the racks! so we had to take what ever dress that was available. there's no thinking twice here! either you take or you don't.

the dresses were dirty, rips here and there, not very pretty. there's only a hand full of nice looking dresses out of let's say a trillion.

if you're not willing to go by 8am and only by yourself then don't get your hopes up in finding THE dress or even nice looking ones cuz they'll be gone... even a lot of the ugly ones were sold.

not to bum you out or anything. i just don't want you to waste your time.

Hey...maybe there will be another occasion or maybe even there is a reason you are not supposed to go...maybe your dress is elsewhere...just a thought.....

What a negative post! But...thanks for the heads up.

I've heard the exact opposite from several other people that were there last year. After the AM rush, the employees have time to get all the dresses back on the racks, and it's a lot calmer at lunchtime.

Anywho Shorty McBride I think Soon2BeMrs.S has a very valid point and so does Nina you probably are not going to miss much and are just not 'supposed' to find your dress there. But also who knows peoples schedules do change and you have another two whole weeks for someone else to potentially step up to the plate
