That is so exciting! My mother lives right on Smith's Point beach and that's where we're taking pictures before the ceremony.Sorry that I don't have anything constructive to add, but I'm sure that the ceremony will be beautiful!

My reception is on the beach, but the ceremony is in a church. As far as the shoe concern, it would be really cute to provide flip flops for your guests in a basket right before they step on the sand! And, of course, you could get the flip flops with the rhinestone straps (they sell them at Sandy's Shoes in Massapequa). How exciting! That's so cool! Good luck! I'm sure it will be BEAUTIFUL!

No, YOUR wedding sounds cool! I want my reception on the beach! I'm so jealous!
But as far as the flip flops, I was going to do the slipper basket anyway, so should I do both?
That's a lot of $$$!

I also read in a magazine what could be nice for this idea... a bucket of rose water for the guests to rinse the sand off after the reception. Just a thought...
As for flip-flops vs. slipper basket, I personally would rather be barefoot on the dance floor (I always take my shoes off at weddings anyway) than walk barefoot in sand (that could get kind of dirty). I think it's a personal preference... you're right... it IS too pricey to do both. Maybe just the bridal party can wear the flip flops? I've also heard of brides getting flip flops to DANCE in at the reception, so maybe the flip flops can apply to both? Or maybe the slippers can apply to both? Either way, a marriage on the beach is going to be a unique experience for you and your guests. Enjoy! Good luck!

My reception and ceremony are 20 minutes away from each other. Hopefully i wont have to worry about sand still on their feet by then! LOL..

Re: Is anyone else getting married on a beach?
I'm getting married on the beach too!!!
What i plan to do as of right now is i'm going barefoot for the ceremony and wearing flip flops for the reception. All my BM's and GM are wearing flip flops for the ceremony and they can either continue to wear them for the reception or they can change into whatever shoes they want to. I also thought about providing a basket of flip flops for the guests for the ceremony since it's a little hard to walk in the sand with heals or certain shoes. But we'll see.
What else are you girls doing? Are you doing the beach theme or just doing the beach ceremony? I'm doing the beach ceremony only really. Except, for the place cards... what i'm doing is getting this silver pan with a blue ribbon around the top border (it looks better than i'm describing it) and i'm filling it up with blue beach glass and laying the place cards on top.

We are doing a beachy/tropical theme. My colors are yellow and orange, flowers are tropical, we'll probably have some food from St. Lucia (our HM spot) in the CH.I'm doing something really similar w/ my place cards! Me and my dad are going to make a large tray out of wood, fill w/ sand, and if it all works out, clam shells will be the place cards!
What beach are you using?

Yes, we are doing the same thing> My entire wedding is something beach.. Although, I guess Calla Lillies and sunflowers are not really beachy, but they are summery right?
