Cupcakes VS. Wedding Cake

Is anyone getting cupcakes instead of Wedding cake?? This is the one and only thing FI has really asked for. I think it's cute and all...but would that mean no cake cutting??? Anyone have any pics? Thanks

I have heard of this, although I am not having it. I have heard of the couple getting a small cake to use for the cake cutting. I am not sure if the cupcakes are considered to be 'less formal' or not...I have no idea. It is cute though.

I think it's cute and I think you can always take the top one and feed it to each other. You won't literally have to cut it, but you can still do the 'cake cutting' ceremony.

I saw this and it was nice, some one told me that it can be used for a groom's cake and get a regular cake to cut....just an idea

i really like the cupcake idea! not only because they're cute but also because by of the cake, scott and i are pretty much full. we usually cannot finish our cake at most weddings.

what i've seen people do is let's just say you want a layered cake. let's just say 3 layers as an example. as an example, the middle layer's the part you want to do the cutting. that middle layer would be real cake whereas the frist and third layers would be faux (made out of styrofoam).

Thanks... I would like to do this...the only thing is they charge more for the Cupcakes then they do for the Wedding cake...Like $500 more! I was so shocked to hear this.....I would of thought diffrent! Thanks for your help

We're getting a cupcake tree with a small 7' cake on top. It's kind of like the pic. We got chocolate and vanilla cupcakes with rasberry filling and then they're putting flowers on them.

Oh yah, I actually have no charge for this. A special occasion cake came with my package and I asked if the top small cake could count as that. They told me there would probably be a upgrade charge for the whole thing, but there wasn't. My balance is zero. Wooopeee
