Good Pal getting married 2 weeks before

Whats Up Guys,

I good friend of mine is getting married 2 weeks before me and got engaged a day before me. We have been helping each other through the entire early process of the planning and using each other as a sounding board frequesntly.

The question is, since our weddings are so close, woudl it be foolish to give cash gifts just to get it back 2 weeks later? I was going to tell him that we should just give cards to each other but have no idea how to bring up the point without sounding cheap. His wedding though is costing him about $25 more per plate BUT my friends and I can careless about cost and we are all generous and will always give extra money or what we can afford (usally more then we could).

What do you guys think?

Oh - we both know what each is paying, where we are cutting costs and everything else.

you give what you can....
who is to say 1 person will simply give back what the other person gave? maybe 1 of the 2 of you is more genrous....

i would still exchange to say you did it.

I did this same thing with my brother...he got married in January and I am getting married in July so rather then just 'get back' what I give him in January he and I just called it a wash! It's so much easier becasue he knew I needed the money now for the wedding and I knew he would need the money in July becasue he just bought a house.

My cousin is getting married a month before i am......We are going to do the same thing! It is foolish to just pass the money back and forth!
