who typically pays for a baby shower..? would it be my parents..or both mine and dh's..does anyone know this? im new to this..TIA!!

I think in the old days, it was the godmother. However, the last babyshower I went to, both sides of the family paid for it.

I just booked my sister's baby shower and me, my other sister and Mom are paying for it....her in-laws have not offered to help in anyway.

i don't think there's any official 'rules' these days--i think it's nice if both families can chip in a bit! that way it doesn't feel like only one set of grandparents or aunts/uncles are having the bulk of it.
