I definitely think it can be done in word! If you're buying labels, most (like Avery and Wilton) have templates you can use.

I am too stupid for these...I don't understand what to do...really I am lazy and don't have the attention span to figure it out! LOL

I didn't forget about your monograms for the labels - I was a lil busy this weekend
But to answer your question - it can totally be done! I'm personalizing the gift bags for the kids with their names and a lil thank you. I made small favor tags in MS Word for the wine bottles, and plan on getting clear labels (Avery) from staples tonight to do the gift bags since they're gold.
If you need any help J - let me know!

I just need to know HOW to do it...what format do you use and stuff.
how do you make the size and shape...do you print one at a time...I am so completely clueless with this stuff...I was just playing with it, and came up empty.
do you have your template?

Re: Want to personalized my gift bags (with guests names) with labels..
Jess, if you use Avery labels, it's easy because in the setup options on Word, all you have to do is select the corresponding label # to the number in the list. (I know this doesn't make much sense!)There should be a menu that gives you an option of what label you're using in the envelopes & labels section of Word. Choose the label # and that should set up the template for you.
Also is anyone having a hard time finding clear labels? A few of us have been looking for them, and it's been a PITA to find them!!

Here are my instructions for those favor tags:
1) Using MS Word, I created one favor tag lay-out using overlapping text boxes, adjusting the font size, color, and font - I can help you with this Jess.
2) I then copied and pasted that one label throughout one sheet (I fit about 8 per page) leaving one inch between each tab - horizontally and vertically (easier to cut)
3) I printed out as many pages as I needed, and then cut them appropriately to size.
If you want to give it a shot on your own - let me know if you come into any problems.
Otherwise, I would have absolutely no problem making up a template based on the size you need, etc, and sending it to you. You can then make the adjustments to font and color as you need, and print them out and cut them as well.
