My FH just asked his. We didn't feel the need to do anything special. Both of them (he has two best men) felt it was an honor to be asked. I would just ask over the phone, but that's me.

I live in NC and all of my bridesmaids live in NY. So, I sent really nice friendship cards saying why they are special to me and asking them that way. I just thought it was nicer than on the phone. I know guys aren't as mushy, but maybe he can do something like that......
