Guest List - Help!

Okay, my FH and I do not want more than 220 people at our wedding in order to stick with the budget we set. Our guest list is currently at 255 Adults, 5 kids, and our minimum is 175. How does this sound? I know they say between 10-20% won't come, but I'm nervous to invite too many in case they all mostly wind up coming, and nervous to invite too few in case by chance we don't make the minimum.

What do you girls think? Is about 255 a good number to invite based on my scenario?

Re: Guest List - Help!

I think so. we had an exact 20% decline rate. most other's have had anywhere from 10% to 30% or more.

Re: Guest List - Help!

Have you thought of having an A list and a B list. You can send the invites to the A list first and then depending on how many respond no from the A list you can send that many to people from the B list

Re: Guest List - Help!

It's hard, on average it's 20% but, my friend invited 250 and 8 people said no.

I'd see if you could do an A or B list.

i agree with this poster. each time an 'A' list says no, you can immediately send out a 'B' list invite. that's what i'm going to do!

Re: Guest List - Help!

We had an 18% decline rate. I was expecting more like a 10% decline, but we had unexpected NO's....THANK GOODNESS!

I think you're numbers are goo.

Re: Guest List - Help!

I'm getting kinda worried now too..... Our minimum is 175 and we were planning on sending out 200 invites..... According to FH, there will be only a couple No's on his side..how the heck does he know this?!!!!!!!!! Should I invite more?

Re: Guest List - Help!

i think it's a good idea to have a second list that way you cover yourself. You don't want to over pay.
