Oheka Castle for a night?

Has anyone stayed at Oheka Castle (not during a wedding)?

I was thinking of having at least one special night after the wedding with fh (we aren't going on our honeymoon until June) and since I hear so much about this place, I thought maybe it might be nice.

I am assuming of course that you CAN book without having a wedding there or being a guest (like other castle 'hotels')

any feedback is appreciated! TIA!

Re: Oheka Castle for a night?

They are having a showcase there March 9th and are giving away a weekend there. Maybe you should go and try to win it. I think it is $20.00 p/p.

LOL, I paying more for my hair and makeup the day of, then some of those rooms on the price list! I wish they had pictures of the rooms and suites that say which is which.

I think it would be definitely worth it, I mean, when again will you be able to stay in a Castle, then on your very own wedding night? Unless you want to wait and make it a one year anniversary thing, but hey I say go for it!

Re: Oheka Castle for a night?

one thing to watch out for at oheka is if there is a wedding there that day you cannot show up in your dress - because that bride paid a site fee to be the only bride

but i think it would be great to stay there- very pretty

I would actually be staying there the night after, not the night of- we are hanging with our guests at the Wingate after party

Re: Oheka Castle for a night?

I called them---We wanted to get married there SOOOOOOOOOOO bad, but for obvious reasons we could not.
I just got off the phone with them. The rooms are very expesnive. Like Garden City hotel expensive and like Christine mentioned, there is really nothing going on there (except the magic of you ad your love) I mean no bar, or roomservice. I would suggest for that kind of money a room in NYC with champgne room service or a standard room at the GC hotel. At least you can do dinner, go to the hotel bar, etc.
JMO
I do corp events in NY, so if you are thinking that I know so many nice uncomon hotels that are AWESOME
