Mother of the Bride Dress Question

Just a question...my mom is looking for dresses...I think she can wear an ivory dress...she's not sure...but isn't somewhat common for the mother of the bride to wear that color?

Not really. I don't think 'the rules' are so strict anymore, like the MOB shouldn't wear white or black. My mother wore black and a nude color dress. They say that black means disapproval of the marriage. But noone really pays attention to that anymore. But the reason there is that 'rule' not to wear white is because it takes away from the bride. I personally wouldn't want my mother or my MIL to wear white/ivory. That's my preference though.

IMHO i think the MOB can wear whatever color she likes. Depending on her skin color, she may look absolutely stunning!!
