Dumb dress question...

Do you need to buy the slip before you get the dress in or wait? My dress is due in next month so should I wait to buy it until I get the dress or do I buy it beforehand so I have it ready for fittings?

Re: Dumb dress question...

I was told to have all of my undergarments and my shoes before my fittings. Otherwise the measurements and alterations could be off.

Your other option is to borrow a slip from the shop for the fitting, and then just make sure that you buy the same size slip for your wedding.

Re: Dumb dress question...

It's not a good idea to have your dress altered without the slip you're wearing on your wedding day. The hem won't be accurate if you use a different slip. I got my slip at the salon on the day of my first fitting. If you're buying your slip elsewhere I'd get it before your first fitting. Also make sure you have your bra and shoes for the first fitting.

Re: Dumb dress question...

I already bought my slip on e-bay. I was also told to have all my undergarments before the fitting.

Re: Dumb dress question...

I waited until my dress came in and bought it from the dress store. I wanted to see which one was the right one for my dress. Most bridal shops have them in stock, so I don't think it's necessary to buy it elsewhere unless you are saving a lot of money.

Re: Dumb dress question...

I bought my slip at my Bridal shop. I loved how it looked when I tried the sample on when I ordered my dress- so at the 1st fitting I had them get me one- it was 70 bucks..
