When are the bridesmaids dresses supposed to be ordered?

My MOH seems to think we have time.. She says it's ok to wait until 4 months before the wedding? is this right? I thought it was 6 months before. Thanks.

I was told it takes 8-12 weeks for the BM dresses to come in after you order them. I'm getting married in Nov. also and won't order mine until the end of April.

My wedding is April 8th.
ordered BM dresses end of sept. beginning of oct. they came in december.. 1st fitting are going on right now ( they do 1 month b4 wedding)

I was told to order them around April/ May.... So I was hoping to get everyone together sometime the end of April...

Hey Wedding Twin - I have not even looked at BM's dresses either I am probably going to get the girls together within the next couple of weeks and start shopping around. I am hoping to have them ordered by the beginning of May.

well my wedding is in Oct and we just placed the order for the BM dresses about a week ago and the lady told me that it took between 8 to 12 weeks depending on the designer.

Six months sounds right - I actually left less time and was told it was fine.

I would suggest allowing 6 months for sure! We ordered my BM dresses in Sept. and til this day, have not come in yet.

Bridal Suite in Centereach told us no less than 5 months or they wouldn't guarantee they would be in on time. I would call the place you are thinking of getting the dresses at and seeing what their cut off time is.

I wouldnt wait because I ordered mine in July and they still havent come in and they told me 4- 6 months and it has been 8! They told me they wont be in til the end of April and if there is a problem with any of them- I want to have time to get a new dress- you never know what could happen- wrong sized, color etc. IMO dont wait!

I'd say at least 6 months in advance. Anything less than that is pushing it time wise. And remember it all depends on the shop and the designer. Some designers have a long waiting time. HTH.

Depending on the designer, BM dresses can take 3-5 months to come in. You also need at least 1 month for the alterations. My BMs ordered the dresses sometime in March and they arrived at the salon at the end of June/beginning of July.
