Envelope liners are almost done!

Woo hoo! I got 40 envelope liners done last night. I cranked them out while FH lounged and watched a hocket game! To his defense, he asked if he could help and I said no. I have issues with control people! haha.
So, I am half way done with these liners and now am starting to worry. I think I want outer envelopes! I mean, all this work I am doing and people are just going to rip open the envelope! I want to protect the liners.

So, I got the envelopes from Paper Source. They are A9 sized. I checked and there isn't a larger envelope to use as an outer.....anyone have ideas where I could pick up a cheaper outer envelope that will fit an A9 size inside it?

Re: Envelope liners are almost done!

well the size of an A9 is 5 3/4 by 8 3/4 - so you could get the 8x8 square size. What about that?

teetering penguin!

oh there is also a 6x9 size. That might be better, less 'extra' space.

Re: Envelope liners are almost done!

I have cut all my liners to size, but I still have to assemble them. Are you using glue or tape?

glad those suggestions worked out.

Re: Envelope liners are almost done!

I am using double sided tape I bought at AC Moore. I found it in the scrapbooking section. It's been working great so far. It's this little mechanism where you just roll the tape on to the envelope. I suggest this route because it's a lot less mess and much quicker.

Re: Envelope liners are almost done!

crud. I called them to see how the flap looks on those envelopes and the lady says the flap is on the side....

plus, do you think an offwhite outer envelope will look weird with a chartreuse inner?

If I were to go in another direction, what do you think about not fully sealing the envelopes I already have...like not sealing it the whole way around? people might be less likely to just rip at it.

hmm, well first we can search Google for some other options.

but I would be weary with offwhite outer and the chartreuse inner - because it may show through... depending on the weight of the envelope. What other colors are you using?

do you mean sealing it with a sticker or something like that? That might work too!

Re: Envelope liners are almost done!

Here's a pic of the invite as it stands. The envelope is chartreuse.

I could get orange circle stickers to match to close the envelope. But should I be concerned about not fully closing the envelope and it going through the mail safely?

Re: Envelope liners are almost done!

Your invites are awesome!
I got my envelopes at paper zone - I went to the store in seattle, but they have a website: paperzone.com They have a pretty huge selection.

This is hysterical. DH's quote when I was making our invites was 'I am helping by not helping so that we can still get married'. I'm with you on the control issues!

LOL! I just know it's safer to do it myself than to involve him. 6 years together has taught me a think or two! haha

I am sending out my invites exactly that way. The outer envelope is lined and the inner is a petal envelope. I am going to seal the outer with a square sticker (not shown):

I sent one to myself at work (cause I am a werido) and it made it to me in one piece. I think the stock of the envelope is heavy enough that you don't have to worry. IMO.
