Past Brides Who Got Ready at a Hotel:
If you got ready for your wedding at a hotel - did you regret not taking pics at your house?I love my home and would love to have my kitchen, living room, and bedroom in the background for all my 'getting ready' pics, but since I live almost an hour away from my reception hall and have a 9am appt. with Old Westbury Gardens (an hour away from my home) we're seriously considering staying the night before the wedding at the Inn at Fox Hollow. It will save us so much time.
What are/were your feelings on this?

Re: Past Brides Who Got Ready at a Hotel:
Although not married yet, I am thinking of going this route as well. Somehow having one bride and 3 BM getting ready in an apartment with one bathroom won't cut it - I've thought about the hotel deal, but I am tossed too!I hope other brides respond - I want to see what others have done!

Since I live in NJ, getting ready at home was not an option. Although it would have been nice to take pictures there (I LOVE our house!). We got ready at the hotel and it was much more relaxed.

Re: Past Brides Who Got Ready at a Hotel:
I got ready at our apt...didn't take pics there either. I didn't have the option to take pics at my childhood home being I'm originally from Upstate, but I will say if I got married there...I would have wanted my childhood home in the pictures...regardless of how many years I haven't lived at home.

I liked the pics at my hotel. We had an apartment at the time so it would have been too small to get ready and take pics at.

I grew up in CT, so getting ready at the house I grew up in was not an option. Our apartment was too small to accomodate all those people. The hotel was the best option, and it was a lot of fun.

Along these same lines, for the girls who got ready at the hotel, did you have a suite or just a standard hotel room? I think a room might be too crowded. Any feedback?

Re: Past Brides Who Got Ready at a Hotel:
I went with a Suite for my wedding in April. The room was way to small for me and some of my bridesmaids especially for a few getting ready shots. Also, we get to stay in that suite the night of, which is nice.

I just booked 2 nights at the Inn at Fox Hollow. It was more of a convenience for me since i am getting married next door. Their grounds and lobby look beautiful. I would love to take pics at home, but I think this will be much easier.

Yes, I booked the bridal suite at the Wingate Inn for the whole weekend. It was a good idea.
