NWR- need help picking out a gift for people I have never met.

tomorrow I am flying to North East, Pennsylvania (very small town about an hour outside of Buffalo, in PA) to visit my brother, who currently lives there with his girlfriend, and her parents.

To make a long story short, he moved there with her after getting out of the Marines, b/c after two tours in Iraq, he wasn't ready to come back to NY.

His gf's parents took him and and have treated him very well. While I am going there to 'show him the light' LOL and 'encourage' him to come home, I'd like to get them something as a token of gratitude for treating my brother like one of their own.

the question is...WHAT?

TIA!

How about a little piece of NY?? A gift basket with a photo of the NY skyline in a frame, some chocolate (5th Ave bars?), ummmmm, my creative juices are definitely not working!

I would def bring some food, like the girls said, baskets of goodies are always appreciated. Maybe a nice bottle of wine from a LI vineyard. And it's always nice to show up with flowers!

Cindy...it would take me 2 hours to get to an LI vineyard LOL...I am a city girl remember!

I am definitely bringing some Brooklyn bagels, but I don't want to carry something huge on the plane....maybe a vase...is that too corny?

A vase is a nice gift.

Just be aware, if you are bringing it as your carry on, to tell the security people it's a vase. I got this little lead crystal globe thing from a conference last month and they went through my whole bag to figure out what looked suspicious (they didn't give me any hints of what they might be looking for before they started looking so I couldn't help them).
