I heard bad news and it is really upsetting me

A friend of my parents passed away this weekend and his daughter is scheduled to get married in two weeks. I don't even know this girl but I can't stop thinking about her and how horrible this must be for her and her family. My parents don't know any details yet, but they think that he would want the wedding to go as scheduled. I feel horrible for her.

I feel horrible for their family

ETA: everytime I hear something like that it makes my problems seem so small. it puts everything into perspective.

I lost my mother one month before my first wedding. I cant even describe to you all how terrible it was to not have her there on my wedding day. However what was worse was how everyone treated me and ex-hubby. Either people made comments like 'How could you go on without your mom there?' or 'You poor things'. I just wanted to be treated like any other bride. While I tried to enjoy my day, we made it a celebration of life in general and honored her memory. I dont know how close you are with this girl but try not to treat her like a lepar. Just be there if she needs. Her and her family are in my thoughts and prayers.

Wow I am sure that was very hard for you. Everything you said was right on point. At times like these, no one needs to make comments questioning your decisions. I hope this woman can enjoy her day even though it is bitter sweet.
