Never leave anything in your car

so FH calls me at 6:21 this morning to tell me that he found his back window smashed this morning and the only thing the a** hole took was his schoolbag which was in the backseat. this isn't what we needed right now - he's been working overtime like crazy just so we could make some extra $$$ for the wedding and now he has to use it to replace a window and buy the books that he's missing. what kind of an idiot breaks into a car to take a schoolbag??? i told FH we're actually lucky because it i could have been worse but its still a PIA to get this fixed. so a word of warning girls - never leave anything in your backseats where they could be seen

Re: Never leave anything in your car

The window might be covered under your auto insurance. Check your policy. As for the books, you could probably save some $$ if you buy them used from Barnes & Nobles website.

So sorry to hear about your inconveinence. So people are just idiots and have no respect for what other work so hard to get. May this be the worst of your worries.

Re: Never leave anything in your car

Yes, it might be covered under your auto insurance. I know GEICO in NY usually has full glass coverage (not in NJ though and I found out the hard way when I lived there).

Safelite auto glass will come to your car too (at home, work, whereever!) I unfortunately had street parking so I brought it to them but, they did a good job.

Re: Never leave anything in your car

I would file a police report just in case you have any potential problems with the insurance company. But I agree what kind of intellectual idiot breaks into a car to steal books. I am so sorry this happened to you hun

Re: Never leave anything in your car

That's terrible. But I never leave anything in visible sight in my car for that sole purpose. But I would check w/ the insurane company to see if that was covered
Good Luck

Re: Never leave anything in your car

ughh that stinks. a similar thing happened to a co-worker of mine. someone smashed her window and took her work bag. in it she had her planner, with all of her credit card information, it was horrible! My dad has always told me to never leave my wallet or purse in the car, but I never thought someone would take a school bag!!!

Re: Never leave anything in your car

Oh my gosh... THATS HORRIBLE...

and what an idot... it could have been like some kid in middle school's book bag...

What kind of stuff did this person expect to find in it.

I always yell at my fh b/c he leaves his LV messenger bag in the car ALL THE TIME... I tell him to AT LEAST put it in the trunk...

He doesn't listen.
