Do you need to mention 'wishing well' on the bridal shower invite? UPDATED WITH QUESTION!
Ok, so my shower is not a secret and my Mom sent out the invites last week to everyone. This past weekend, I went shopping with FMIL and FSIL and they said 'how come you're Mom's not doing a wishing well?' I said I didn't know and asked why they assumed this. They said because it wasn't mentioned on the invites. I didn't know it had to be mentioned...ETA: So what do we do now? My mom wants to rent the wishing well but what if no one brings anything???

Re: Do you need to mention 'wishing well' on the bridal shower invite? UPDATED WITH QUESTION!
Can your mom let people know by word-of-mouth? Some people may bring something anyway, but some may not. Until recently I had never heard of a wishing well (none of my friends are married), so I wouldn't know to bring another gift if it wasn't on the invite.

Re: Do you need to mention 'wishing well' on the bridal shower invite? UPDATED WITH QUESTION!
i usually see it on the invite-- sometimes with a theme for the wishing well. My friend had a 'honeymoon wishing well' and we were told to bring things that she could use on her honeymoon

I don't know if I would bring a wishing well gift to a shower unless it was mentioned on the invite.can your mom try and spread the word to the guests?

Re: Do you need to mention 'wishing well' on the bridal shower invite? UPDATED WITH QUESTION!
I think that it's always written on the bottom of the invite if there's going to be a wishing well.

Maybe you could have your BP spread the word? My sister didn't have a wishing well (so obviously it wasn't on the invite) and only one guest brought wishing well gifts.

It's this thing you can rent that looks like a little wishing well. People bring little gifts (like kitchen gadgets) to put in it in addition to regular gifts. I think it's a NY thing because people thought I was nuts when I mentioned it to my friends in Boston.
