DUMB question alert! Difference between groomsmen and ushers?
Are these separate groups of people? I am having a smaller wedding <100 people> and my FH has selected his groomsment. I was thinking of seeing if my two close cousins would be interested in being ushers but I didnt know if
1. Thats a separate role from groomsmen. 2. If it would be overkill with a small wedding?

Re: DUMB question alert! Difference between groomsmen and ushers?
You got me here.....I always believed groomsmen and ushers were more or less the same thing. The groomsmen usually seat guests as they arrive at the ceremony and then just before it begins they stand in front or sit in the first pew/row with the groom.

Re: DUMB question alert! Difference between groomsmen and ushers?
The difference is that groomsmen are actually in the wedding. They walk w/ your bridesmaids, whereas an usher would escort someone to their seat. eg: an usher would escort the Mother of The Bride to her seat, as well as The Mother of The Groom, Grandmothers, or if not a grandmother, a Great Aunt or someone of that nature
