Tyra Banks Show . . . Average Price of a BM Dress

Tyra Banks did a wedding show today. She said that the average price of a BM dress is $887? I thought I heard her wrong, but she kept on saying it. What planet are these weddings taking place on that $887 is the average price for a BM dress. Has any one come across these prices?

No. Never saw anything that expensive. Where were they shopping???? Beverly Hills? I thought the Lazaro dresses we looked at were high-end at $260. No one would go for them.

No way. My girls' dresses were around $200.00, which I thought was a bit pricey.

She was talking about BM dresses that girls get stuck with and dont wear again, so I am pretty sure she was talking about BM dresses.

MY dress didn't even cost that much!

I hope she mean bridal gowns.

That is WAY out of anyone's price league that I know! The most I've ever paid for a dress I had to wear at a wedding was $250 I think.

Makes sense. I think you solved it. Although, my BM's arent paying anywhere near that amount on the entire wedding

Good call. Let's do the math (I'm making these numbers up):
$200 on a dress + $200 on gifts + $150 on shower + $100 on bachelorette party + $150 for hair and makeup = $800... Yeah, $887 is very, very possible.

What Jen said does make sense. There's no way a bm dress could average that, esp. considering most of middle america probably gets their dresses at JC Penney or such. I was in my bf's in Texas about 10 years ago & paid all of $62.

I didn't see it but was she maybe talking about the average price that a woman pays for BM dresses total - meaning that if I averaged the costs of ALL the BM dresses I've bought for each wedding I've been in?

She didnt specify. She said a general statement that the average price a BM spends on a dress is $88. She was talking specifically about dresses BM's got and hated and in one situation she discussed it when a bride said she was buying her BM's gowns. But maybe this was an error on her part.

i think she meant over the course of many weddings. like the average girl spends $887 on bridesmaids' dresses over the course of her life.
