Ideas for incorporating friends into wedding who are not in bridal party??

Hi Everyone - I am only having my sister as my MOH and am not having a bridal party. However, I have 4 or 5 friends that I would like to include in some special way during the ceremony or reception. Any ideas outside of asking them to do a reading?? Thanks!!

My best friend decided not to have a bridal party (besides her sister who was MOH) for different reasons. She did have me sign her marriage certificate though as the witness - that was a huge honor to me. Could you do that?

maybe they can hand out, whatever you are doing after the ceremony (for example- birdseed, petal cones, bells etc.)

We are going to have some friends as ushers and my cousin will be handing out programs. I am thinking of having another friend hand out the petal cones.

Would it be totally cheesy to have a song during the reception dedicated to my friends where we come up and dance together - or maybe they come up with their boyfriends/husbands and we all dance??

I am trying to think of something different and meaningful....

Are any of them musically talented? I am having a siblings only bridal party so I all my friends from college are doing the music. One is an organist, one will cantor the mass and others will be singing some choral pieces. (the music is so important to me and this is how i am including them...) Also, if it's a Catholic ceremony they could do readings, bring up the gifts, etc.

And i LOVE the song idea... have your DJ or band play a song for you and your girls!!!
