The Woodlands vs. Carlyle on the Green

My fiance and I are torn between these two places. We love the elegance, food and service offered at both. Our concerns are the cocktail hour area at Carlyle and the reception room at the Woodlands. We are have a little over 200 guests and we don't know which place would be best. We are looking for the date in June/July 2007.

I was hoping that I can get some honest and upfront feedback about these places. It seemed as though the Woodlands was more accommodating but one never knows.

Re: The Woodlands vs. Carlyle on the Green

I was a BM at a wedding at the Carlyle and it was great. The food was good, service was good, and the room is beautiful.

I booked the Woodlands for my wedding. I fell in love when I walked in.

Having it at the Carlyle was not an option but I too would be torn between the two. They both are on a golf course, have outdoor capability for cocktail hour, one wedding at a time, etc.

Go with your gut or whoever gives you the best deal.

Re: The Woodlands vs. Carlyle on the Green

I looked at both the Woodlands and Carlyle, too. Although I loved Woodlands, I had major concerns about the reception. I thought it was too long and rectangular for our number of guests (which was less than you have). The ballroom at the Carlyle is just amazing and IMO blows the Woodlands' away. We chose Carlyle and I never regretted it for one minute. Everything was amazing from the service to the food to the ambiance. The cocktail hour was actually really nice. For us, the day was nice so some guests were outside, others in the main cocktail room ,and others in the hallway/foyer. Some people have concerns that the guests will be too spread out, but I didn't think that was an issue at all. Other than the bride/groom and immediate family, People tend to mingle within their own groups so everyone had a place to settle with their groups and it still felt cozy.
Check out my review if you want more info on Carlyle.
