List of Questions to Ask When Booking a Hotel

Hi ladies,
My FH is heading out today to check out hotels for our OOT guests, and I made up this list of q's with some helps from the girls on theknot. I thought I'd pass it on to you all!


What type of typical room availability is there for (month getting married)?

What kind of discount is available for our guests?


What is the minimum # of hotel rooms you must block?

Can we block additional rooms later on?

When is the cut-off time that rooms will be released from the block before the wedding?

Are we responsible for any part of the value of rooms that are blocked and un-booked?

Do we sign a contract for room blocks?

Will hotel information cards be provided to us to send out to guests in our Save The Dates and Invites?

Is there a website directly for your hotel?

Will guests have to call the hotel directly or be able to book on-line?

Will guests have to pay in full before they arrive to receive the discount?

What type of room is the standard available for room blocks? Amenities? # of Beds?

Will we be able to receive any special room/discount for using them on our wedding night?

Check-in time? Check-out time?

Can the hotel provide shuttle service to/from the wedding? What company do they recommend?

What is a price estimate for shuttle service for approx. (# of ) guests?

What time does your bar stay open on (wedding night) ?

If neccessary can the bar stay open later?

Maybe add - do they have a lounge type area where guests can get together between ceremony and reception if they choose to?

I thought of a couple more that I read somewhere else
1-Do they offer a courtesy room block? This is the kind where you have no deposit to pay to block rooms.
2-Will they leave the bar open later than their regular time if we guarantee a certain amount of revenue?

Damn it! I just came from blocking my hotel rooms! Lol. It went well thought I don't think i missed anything as if yet lol.

Another one is 'do you offer breakfast for guests?'. If you're doing it, you can also ask about a private room for brunch.
