How to you let people know you've registered?
How do you 'tastefully' go about telling people you've reistered?I know the places you register at give you announcement cards and you can send emails to friends and family through the website. But how do you alert people without feeling like a spoiled brat?

Re: How to you let people know you've registered?
I've seen it done on the shower invitation only...I have also heard it via word of mouth...
I guess there is no non-tacky way to say it.... and probably you should have your mom, friends, etc. spread the wrod for you.... most people just have to wait to around the shower time to start answering and sharing that information.

Re: How to you let people know you've registered?
They go in the shower invitations. I also put that info on our wedding website, so a lot of people found out that way. And if people want to know, they will ask you or your parents or your BP.

Re: How to you let people know you've registered?
Definately word of mouth. And if your bridal party decides to put it on the invites then that's a good way too

Re: How to you let people know you've registered?
I went the tacky route and put the info on my eparty invites. I know, I know I broke the rules! The thing is I dont think wedding gifts are a big shocker and those that dont want to bring gifts can disregard as they do the general custom of bringing gifts any way. JMO.

Is it tacky to put it in STD's? I'm going to send mine out in May/June and was planning on putting something in there.

no offense--but yes, i think it would be tacky to put it in the STD's...it's like saying 'save the date---and while your at it, BUY ME SOMETHING!'
they should only be put in shower invites (and some ppl think that's too much) and by word of mouth by your family and BP members.

That's what we're doing too. I thought it was going to look rude but honestly since I've gotten engaged so many people have asked if I'm registered yet so I'm beginning to think it just makes it easier. I don't expect anyone to bring anything but it just helps cut back on worrying who knows and who doesn't.

None taken ! I wasn't sure though. A lot of OOT people have asked me if we have registered yet and where and so on. I didn't want to Email them cause I thought that was tacky, that's why I was going to put something in the STD's. I guess I'll just have my dad tell everyone, he probably will anyway!
