Another Vendor Booked!

I just booked my florist.

I'll tell you why I am so excited about this.... I went to another florist over the weekend that was recommended by a lot of brides on these boards. When I first walked in he was saying how he has worked with so many different places and with so many different budgets. When we were finished going through everything I was a little surprised at how much everything cost. Not shocked - because everything seems to be costing more than I thought. So he took a look at the write up and the only thing he could suggest was knocking $20 off the $115 centerpieces - THAT WAS ALL THE COST CUTTING HE COULD SUGGEST. I am lucky to not be working with a strict budget but this total was a third more than I had figured. I was totally dismayed and started thinking about making my own centerpieces - which is way beyond my artistic capacity.

Later that day I got an unsolicted e-mail from this other florist right after the first one and I set up a meeting. They are able to do everything the first one was going to do and then some for over a $1,000 less! And they had no idea I had met with someone already so they weren't just trying to beat his price.

Lesson learned - don't get dismayed over the first vendor's quote. There is always someone out there who can work with your budget. That the first florist had no real suggestion on how to modify my plans to lower the price bothered me.

Let me guess......National Floral was the one who gave you the lower price?

Sometimes vendors read these boards which is why the mail was unsolicited but they knew you were looking for a florist.

Congrats on getting someone you're happy with and who can work in your budget!! That is a lot more important that popularity on here!!!
