Re: Honeymoon Registry

we went to liberty travel and they gave us inserts and cards to put in the invitations saying that we were registered with them( you have to put down some thing for them to open your 'file' i think we put down $20.00...then people just go in and put $ down on your trip.

Re: Honeymoon Registry

We are using www.sendusoff.com. Pretty much all honeymoon registries take a percentage of what people pay for your gifts (that's how they make $$) but I think this site takes less than most, like 7% as opposed to 9 or 12. With this site you don't have to book your trip through them, you can make your own list (like, 5 nights at X hotel, dinner at X) and select your own price and quantities. Then they send you a check for all the gifts you've gotten a week before the wedding. It's pretty cool, and I've heard good things about it.

Re: Honeymoon Registry

i'm doing honeymoonwishes.com. i liked them the best because they don't take as much as the others (7%) and you can opt to pay the percentage or let your guests do it (my guests are doing it.) Also, you can request a check at anytime, though if you forget it will come a week before. You enter in your destination and it gives you a bunch of ideas for what to put on your list. you pick and choose or can make up your own to add. IMO, I like these better than doing it thru a travel agent because this way, people feel as though they are buying you a 'thing' (ie - bfast in bed) rather than just giving cash that goes into a honeymoon pot. But that's just me.

So far, I've recieved $400+ worth of gifts (you can peek on this just like fortunoff or macys). Inserts went into my shower invites and I have a feeling my shower will be the only opportunity I get for people to contribute to my HM.

FM me if you have questions.

Re: Honeymoon Registry

This is the one I made up. Guests will pay a 7% service charge, which I already factored into each amount that I assigned for each item. You pay for your honeymoon, and any money that guests want to contribute is basically your 'reimbursement'. We have a lot of house stuff already, so we're hoping people do this! They can either do it online, or call and give their credit card #. Very easy for them.

My TA (In and Out Travel) also offers this service, so I may just go through them, even though I think this website is adorable.

Here's the link to my current honeymoon registry, honeyluna.com

Re: Honeymoon Registry

Is anyone concerned people might think this is for wedding gifts instead of shower? We have had a few immediate family members who seemed confused. I think it would be more clear when sent out in shower invites. THoughts?

It's definitely just for the shower invites and word of mouth. Etiquette says not to include any gift recommendations or registry information with the actual wedding invitations.

Re: Honeymoon Registry

my moms putting them in my shower invites....along with bed bath beyond....some people are uncomfortable with the honeymoon thing & want to get us actual gifts, so we registered at b.b.& b. too as a back up, even though we really didnt want to.....for ours, as a wedding gift wont work since we have to have the honeymoon paid off a month before the wedding....so its going in the shower invite....

Well, we all have to pay for the honeymoon in advance, but any $$ that comes in from the registry will go to us as a 'reimbursement'. We lay it out... and then get the gift money back. It's a little backwards, but works for me! This way, you're not wondering if someone's going to get you all your dinners, massages, hotel nights, etc.
