Well you all know that I got a new job...haven't started yet..haven't even singed anything or given notice at my old job...I was told I have it pending a reference check...

Well its been almost 2 weeks and they haven't started checking references

I asked one of the administrators at my current job if they had called her and she said 'no and I am a little concerned they haven't...which makes me think you really don't have this job afterall'

ANd to add insult to injury I have to give 20 DAYS NOTICE to my current job!
So this will have me starting in MAY!

I would call the new job and ask them when they anticipate you starting - tell them you are anxious and have to give notice at your other job. Also, I think you should only have to give 2 weeks notice -I have never heard of 20 days. Good luck!

I did call the central office...and I asked when they planned on checking references...they aren't in a rush...and they know I have to give this notice...Its in my contract

Yeah I called her and she said that my fingerprints just came through and they will start checking references soon....no time fram

I wouldn't worry about it. It takes a long time for people to do these things sometimes. Especially since they had to wait for your fingerprints to come back- the state takes forever to do anything.
