Mine was an Asian theme. It was at Minado - The Japanese sushi buffet restaurant. My favors were take out boxes filled with fortune cookie soaps that said 'Leslie's Bridal Shower December 10, 2005' when you use them They also handed out sushi pads with magnets:

My friend and MOHs was at a japanese rest. too- the favors were chinese takeout boxes with personalized fortune cookies and chop sticks,,but she also put in a wine theme sort of... with a wine wishing well and and we bought her a wine rack with 12 wines...poem included of course : )

I went to a shower where it was a Sex and the Kitchen theme. The guests brought lingerie that fit into a kitchen appliance or utensils, and then the bride gets a surprise when she opens the gift.

Another theme I've heard of is a kitchen theme, where guests bring recipes attached to a kitchen utensil that can be used to make that recipe.

My shower was a Holly themed shower. My sisters thought it would be cute since it was around Christmas and also my name. Each table was named after a Christmas song (I sat at Hollie Jolly Christmas). The favors were a red ball ornament, a candle with holly on it that said 'Hollie's Bridal Shower December 10, 2005 in a cute pouch and a candy cane with the legend of the candy cane. The wishing well was a Christmas tree and each person brought something to use around the holidays.

This might be strange, but what about a candy theme? I saw a centerpiece that looked kind of like a candy tree, where the base looked like flower pot, the 'tree' was twizzlers and the 'leaves' were all sorts of candy attached at the top.
