3/17/07 Wedding Review WITH PICS--ROYALTON IS THE BEST!, NICOLE D'ANGIO, JENNIFER ANN COSMETICS, AVA VIDEOGRAPHY, JOVON PHOTOGRAPHY (TELMO), SPITZ+PECK, MAYFAIR LIMO,HART TO HART DJ

I can't say enough wonderful things about our vendors. If you have any specific questions about any of the ones we used please feel free to FM me. I have included more images in my profile if you want to see them. (couldnt fit them all here!)

We got married on Saint Patricks day this year (if you recall the day before was a nasty ice storm that pretty much shut down all of the airports--resulting in a loss of about 20 guests) After all was said and done the wedding was the BEST day of my life. Thank you to all who made that possible.

ROYALTON AT ROSLYN COUNTRY CLUB
A+++++
http://www.theroyaltonmansion.com/

What can I say about the Royalton at Roslyn CC? Well words simply aren’t enough. On a very icy St. Patricks day my family and I arrived at the club at 8:30 in the morning. The driveway was thick with ice and snow from the day before and the bridal attendant (Fabiola) was there bright and early to help us unload. Michael (younger one) was there also preparing the place and already in his tux. He was heading out to get a snowplow to plow the driveway—and I headed upstairs to start getting ready. There were warm bagels and muffins along with juice and water awaiting us in the bridal suite. Someone had already started a warm fire and the heat was already cranked to keep the guests warm. The girls arrived and changed, pictures were taken and we headed out to the church. As we drove off to Christ the King, Michael (the owner) was plowing the driveway himself and he smiled and waved as headed out. After the ceremony and pictures, we came back to the Royalton to find an amazing site. Flowers were up and ready, all of our pictures were displayed, the computer screen we had brought to show the photo montage was all loaded up and playing. The fireplaces were burning, everything was so bright and lively. When we arrived, the entire staff was waiting in the front entrance to congratulate us, give us tea and coffee (it was cold taking pictures outside!) Take our shoes, coats whatever. It was wonderful. It couldn’t have been more perfect. My husband was AMAZED. (and hes not into flowers or decorations) and even he said how beautiful the place looked. The girls and guys headed upstairs to drop their things off and hang out in the wonderful bridal suite and grooms suite. Fabiola had food and drinks at the ready for everyone. The room had been a mess when we left but she had tidied it neatly and it was beautiful again. When I walked up the aisle, the train of my dress got a bit dirty so she quickly grabbed some seltzer water and worked away at it, while I stood barefoot and drank champagne and warm tea. By the time I turned around the dress was spotless! She was amazing. One tip for those future brides out there, if you want to have family pictures have those family members arrive EARLY to the reception (if there is time) that way you don’t miss your cocktail hour at all! We took family pictures at the bottom of the stairs (for what felt like hours) while everyone upstairs enjoyed mozzarella sticks, champagne, fries, and early hors d’oueves. Once we were pretty much done with family pictures (or waiting on late family arrivals), Fabiola bustled hubby and I upstairs to relax and have some quiet time. Guests were starting to arrive, and we hadn’t had a chance to just sit and talk with each other since the limo ride. She brought us a sample of every bit of food downstairs at the cocktail hour while we relaxed—the food was amazing. Sushi, crab cakes, carving stations, fresh fruit—everything you could think of. For some reason neither DH nor I were really hungry and all we could manage was a few bites of each thing, remarking on how wonderful it was. A few minutes later it was time for more pictures and to head down to cocktail hour. The cocktail room was packed. As far as I know the drink line (dirty martinis) and cocktail food garnered rave reviews. A foodie friend of mine came rushing over to me to gush over how this was the best cocktail food he had ever eaten and insisted on getting all the details of dinner before we even went into the main ballroom. People were really enjoying themselves, lounging by the fire, grabbing things off the center table with the fruit and cheeses, looking at pictures—it was warm and comfortable. Totally perfect. We only had one small flub—I don’t eat anything white or sweet (think low carb) and all the sushi had white rice in it. We had asked for a special roll with just cucumber and fish for me (and those of us watching the processed stuff) and it wasn’t there. My husband had gone over to ask for the roll and the sushi person had flatly refused to make it. DH went to Gerard who immediately descended on the server and had the roll made up in minutes. He and another server personally delivered it to me and stood there, holding the plate for me while I ate. It was perfect. Fabiola was right by my side all night, champagne in hand, getting me into and out of conversations fluidly (without getting bogged down talking to one or two people). Earlier when our photographer had wanted to take some pics of us outside near the sign, Fabiola ran upstairs, grabbed my Uggs (a necessity if you are getting married in the winter time!) and held my dress shoes while we went out to snap pics. Then it was time for the big stuff… everyone was ushered into the ballroom while hubby and I hung back and talked. There was only one small snafu with seating stuff that got straightened out right away (a friend we had thought was not coming, showed up so we had to jostle seats to get everyone happy—also because of thes storm the night before we had about 20 people who just didn’t make it up to NY –so we had to do a last minute change which in the end worked out but talk about STRESS!) We did a concierge list rather than seating cards –just easier and we really liked the elegance of it—and it was perfect given all the last minute changes that had to take place. Then the wedding party lined up to head into the ballroom—one word of warning—the Royalton does such a great job of keeping the place in tip top shape, the floors are a bit slick so if your husband is walking a bit faster than you when you walk in—theres always the chance that you could do a little slipping like I did on my way in—it wouldn’t be me if I didn’t make a fool of myself at some point during the night (just glad it didn’t happen during the ceremony!) Just walk slowly in your heels and it will be fine. The ballroom was amazing. We had low and high arrangements at all the tables (12) and our WONDERFUL florist (Brian at Spitz + Peck) surprised us with a gorgeous trestle over the bridal table and beautiful warm uplighting around the room. It was something I had never even considered in that space but it made it that much more comfortable and cozy. I think if you used just candles (like we had planned) it could get a bit dark in the corners but the uplighting totally makes a world of difference! All the fireplaces were roaring and Michael and Gerard were buslting around ensuring everyone’s comfort. The salad (we did tuna tartar with greens) was wonderful (again though neither my hubby nor I could eat a whole lot—I really think it was nerves)—and then it was time to dance. I slipped my shoes off under the table immediately and DH and I busted a move. The first dance set was long and just perfect –EVERYONE danced.. and I mean everyone.. from my little sister to my 90 year old aunt and uncle. We were all having such a great time that it seemed that no one wanted to sit down to eat. The waiters came around with sorbet and liquours to cool all the guests down (which again garnered rave reviews)and then it was time for the main courses. The luxury of the Royalton is that you get to literally pick every bit of your menu (literally every bit) and when you give them an idea of what you want they just run with it and do an AMAZING job. We had basically told them precisely what we liked (if you give them an idea of what dishes you like at your favorite restaurants they can re-create them to a T for your wedding!) –everything from perfectly done (to each guests liking) filet mingon, to French cut chicken, to the MOST DELICIOUS swordfish dish (with couscous.) The swordfish garnered RAVE reviews—my husband and I had one dish of each of the mains just so we could try the things that our guest were eating and each dish was so good. Everything was done perfectly. Michael (the owner) came over and asked about the food and my hubby and I couldn’t stop gushing about it. We actually had him deliver the swordfish over to my MIL to have her try and and he personally took it to her—and waited for her review. Needless to say there were no complaints. The wait staff is so courteous and professional. The bars were constantly serving up whatever anyone wanted—everyone always had fresh drinks, straightened napkins and silverware, perfectly placed everything.. it was amazing. No one waited for anything –as soon as someone asked for it it was delivered to the table instantaneously. My brother in law was so fascinated by the whole thing that he actually purposely moved things on his table like glasses and forks and knives to see if the waiter would notice—of course he immediately did and put everything right back where it belonged. We couldn’t have been happier! When it was time for the vienese hour guests were just astounded. There were what seemed like miles of gorgeous tasty deserts. Even our wedding cake (casada cake) was delicious and garnered so much attention that we didn’t have much left at the end of the night. Booking the Royalton was probably one of the best decisions we made. Every single person from the coat check people to the people behind the cocktail tables, to the waiters, to Michael and Gerard were just phenomenal. Any brides (or anyone else) booking the Royalton for an event is garunteed to get some of the most phenomenal service and food quality anywhere.

NICOLE D’ANGIO
A+++++++++
http://www.nicoledangio.com/

What can I say about Nicole that would put into words how absolutely amazing this woman is. When I met her for my hair trial she put me immediately at ease and really “got “ what I wanted for my wedding day. I didn’t want to be a traditional “bride” bride. I wanted to be touchable and approachable, very simple but extremely elegant. I brought her a picture of my dress and she did a wonderful half up/half down do that mimicked the pattern on my dress. It was phenomenal. I felt so beautiful. I was really lucky to be able to book her for my wedding day. Having not had any really good experiences with having my hair done for big events I was worried about booking anyone and but Nicole made it so enjoyable and captured my spirit so perfectly in her gorgeous design that I didn’t have a thing to worry about. I nearly had a hair disaster—I had my hair dyed about 2 weeks out from the wedding and my colorist made it WAYYY too dark. So I called Nicole who called me back and put me at total ease saying that she was sure it looked fine and to send her a picture so she could give her input about it. Needless to say I never got around to sending it to her but just hearing her be supportive (she left the kindest message on my cell a few days later) and so calming was wonderful. I had it fixed the next weekend (and it looked great!) and it all worked out. A few days before my wedding day I had started to have some doubts about whether I should wear my hair up or down so I was going to book another trial with her for my rehersal dinner. Well the gods were not smiling on my on that Friday and we had that massive ice storm. (umm really who would have thought we would have a nor-easter the day before St. Patricks Day? Really?) Nicole even offered to come to me in that horrible weather to do my hair at my house. I was really busy that day (it took me 3 hours round trip to get to the Royalton to drop off the pictures etc. and get home—I was nearly late for my own rehearsal!)so we decided to just see each other the next day. Well if you were out and about on St. Patricks day morning you will know what a nightmare the roads were. It took us about 30 minutes to get from the Marriott in Melville to the Royalton in Roslyn with a great deal of ice scraping and nearly killing ourselves on 2 inches of thick ice on the ground. (My dad dropped my dress walking out of the hotel!—it was all wrapped up and totally fine but talk about nerve wracking!)Well there was a major accident on the LIE and poor Nicole got completely dead stuck when they shut down the freeway. She called a number of times trying to circumnavigate but just could NOT get around the mess. We were scheduled to meet at 8:30am (or 9 I cant remember now!) and because of the mess on the roads she got to the Royalton around 10am. I knew she was frazzled and SO upset but she didn’t even sweat. She immediately sat me down (I had had my makeup done in the meantime—Jennifer was WONDERFUL!) and had me gorgeous in less than an hour. She was so upset and felt so badly about being late that she volunteered to come to the wedding that afternoon (1:30) and help me change out my veil and put in a beautiful gardenia I had chosen to wear in my hair for the reception! She gave up what I am sure was a busy Saturday afternoon to help me! I couldn’t be more grateful to her. She literally sat in the car with me and my fiancé (more like kneeled) and fixed my hair. When I saw her come up to the alter for communion I was floored. I was so grateful just to have her there. She did a gorgeous job with my sister and my mom and everyone was just so pleased. She was fantastic. While she was doing my sister’s hair, and I was dressing, she kept checking on me over her shoulder. Once I put on my dress, and asked her what she thought, she said “I cant look at you right now, because I see you out of the corner of my eye and you are so beautiful that if I look at you I am going to start crying.” She was amazing. I cannot say enough wonderful things about her. My hair was beautiful the ENTIRE day (from 10am through 3 AM) and never fell. Fabiola sprayed me once during the entire day and everything stayed perfectly in place. She has certainly turned me into a lifelong client and advocate. If you are looking to book her definitely get ahead of the game. She is extremely popular and so wonderful at what she does so she is in VERY high demand. I was lucky when I booked her about a month out of my wedding, but if you have your heart set on her definitely make an appointment with her early! (which reminds me, my sister in law is getting married next year and I need to book her to do my hair for that event!)

JENNIFER ANN COSMETICS
A++++++++++

Nicole turned me on to Jennifer, and because I had such a good experience with Nicole I just knew that Jennifer was going to be equally fantastic. I was really late on the whole booking of hair and makeup thing, so I literally went in to have a trial 2 days before the wedding. She was so calm and mellow. I have to say she is one amazing makeup artist and professional. At only 27 she has her own store in Plainveiw and has such a great sense of beauty and color that she made me feel like a million bucks. She was the first to show up at the Royalton (and ran into my dad out in the parking lot scraping the ice off the car!) and immediately sat me down by the window and started my makeup. Throughout our session on my wedding day, Nicole was calling with an update on the traffic jam she was in and Jennifer kept me cool as a cucumber. Since she and Nicole had worked together before she knew that poor Nicole was so upset and was feeling so badly about the whole thing. During our trial we made very few tweaks to what she first did for me and I bought the lipstick and powder that she sells for the wedding day. During the day all I had to do was touch up the lipstick and powder. It was wonderful. My makeup stayed put and fresh the entire day. Again she is equally popular and books up quickly. She and Nicole are great together and they really put any bride (or anyone getting ready for a big event) at total ease. Again I can’t say enough about either of these two wonderful women.

MAYFAIR LIMOSINE
A-
http://www.mayfairlimo.com/

We found these guys on a recommendation from a local car dealer. My hubby and I are rather particular about cars and we had learned that these guys have the most immaculate Rolls Royce around. Its in practically perfect condition. I never knew how important your limo was but let me tell you after the great experience we had with Mayfair I would never go with anyone else. The limos were clean and in perfect condition. The driver for our Rolls (Tony I think?) was fantastic. The limo drivers are really key in orchestrating your entire day. They are the ones who get you to your events on time, and who let all the right people know when you arrive (say at church or at the reception) and ensure that the photographers and videographers are there to get those great moments. All the wine and liquor glasses and bottles in their limos are glass and extremely elegant. Our driver had food (my hubby bought some for the groomsmen) and champagne waiting for us after the ceremony in the car. They were all right on time at the Royalton to pick me and my bridesmaids (who were all late because of the weather!) up and waited patiently while Telmo (my photog) took my bridal portraits (since we were a bit behind schedule). They got me to the ceremony exactly on time, and had me and my dad wait in the car while they went in and ensured that everyone was seated and ready to go (and that my husband was up at the altar already so he wouldn’t see me.) We had the ceremony at Christ the King Church in Commack so there are large glass doors at the back of the church that you can see right through. Our limo driver ushered my dad, my sister and I right into the small waiting room off to the right and let me know when to come out and walk down the aisle after my bridal party (which was huge) had headed down. Even with the terrible weather we they were right on time at every turn of the corner. The only complaint I had about these guys came from our wedding party. Apparently one of the drivers wouldn’t let our bridal party eat in the limo and made a big deal of it. Also my sister in law had to use the restroom (on their way back to the RH and under no real time constraint) and he wouldn’t let her stop. Overall however my husband and I had a great experience with these guys.

SPITZ+PECK, BRIAN
A++++++++++++
http://www.spitzandpeck.com/

There are not a lot of posts on here about Spitz+Peck as a vendor and there definitely should be more. The Royalton only allows two bonded florists Spitz + Peck or Stefans. We actually didn’t even visit Stefans because when we met Spitz and Peck we liked Brian so much we had no need to. Despite the notes on here that say that they are expensive, we found them to be really really really affordable. We gave Brian a budget that he stuck to, to a “T.” Brian is the owner’s son and a genuinely nice guy. He totaled his car the day before our wedding (on the way to check on our flowers) and still showed up first thing the next morning holding my bouquet and helping to set up!!!! We had originally given him a table count of 15 but because of the weather we lost about 2-3 tables of guests. Brian said he felt so bad for us that he had a special surprise made up. When we walked into our ballroom, he had assembled a beautiful trellis over the dias, and installed gorgeous warm uplighting around the room. (Who would have thought you needed uplighting!??? It never occurred to us when we were planning but it really added to the room and lit up the room) When we first went in to meet with him I brought pictures of the colors and kinds of flowers that I liked (my taste is pretty much all over the board) as well as a swatch from the bridesmaids dresses. Since we were getting married on St. Pattys day we wanted to do a touch of green in the flowers, but insisted on nothing cheesy or overdone. Like I said earlier, the theme of the whole wedding was simple understated elegance. I told Brian the kinds of flowers I liked as well as our budget and he was able to create some of the most wonderful things for every aspect of our wedding. So much so that all of our guests commented on how gorgeous the flowers were! Even my dad and husband said they couldn’t believe how beautiful it all was. We had phalenopsis orchids and green orchids, as well as green roses, white hydrangea, bells of Ireland, and gorgeous white calla lilies. My bouquet was all orchids as was my sisters. The girls had orchids and roses mixed together in their bouquets and the boys wore small green orchids on their lapels while my hubby wore a small white calla lily. It was simply maganificent.

BIRCHCRAFT INVITATIONS (THE WEDDING CENTER IN COMMACK)
B+
Invitations were probably the biggest pain in the a** of the entire process. I am telling you now, if you are a bride to be.. get those damn things done and out of your hair as QUICKLY as possible. We started in December and because of my job and our travel schedule I wasn’t able to pick them up until February. While the Wedding Center has great people and great affordable stuff, the place makes me itch---there’s just crap everywhere when you go in. The woman that does the invites is nice enough, but is always busy (especially on the weekends) and expect a talking to if you don’t pick up your invites within a week of when she calls. The invites came out wonderfully though and looked great. They have a printer they send the envelopes out to who also does a great job and is really flexible. Just be warned.. anything and I mean anything you want (additional line? Different color? Sending an invite overseas?) costs you. Every invite co I have ever seen does it this way. Its just a giant cost that you don’t think of when you are going through it all. But needless to say we were happy with our initiations.

AVA VIDEO PRODUCTIONS

Phenomenal! Anthony and his wife are amazing videographers. They put you right at ease and you dont even notice they are there. You choose everything from what you want to have shot, to what music you want--and its wonderful. My hubby and I have watched out video probably about 20 times and each time we cry. Anthony was the first vendor to the Royalton that day and he was the last to leave. His wife captured so many of the precious moments at the ceremony that the final product really was just perfect. Just be on top of your schedule and get them the info they need in time (unlike me)--and you will be so happy with the final product! I was so impressed.

JOVON PHOTOGRAPHY,
TELMO
JOVON
DAVID

A+++++++
www.jovonphotography.com/

I love Telmo and David. Both of them are just wonderful people and fabulous photographers. I can’t say enough about this pair. They showed up right on time, took great pictures, made me feel like a million bucks and made me look like a princess in their pictures. Telmo put me immediately at ease when I met him (after meeting one of his obnoxious counterparts I posted about previously), and has a way of making everyone laugh and relax in any situation. We took my bridal portraits and the pictures of my family and I downstairs in the cocktail room near the window. I have to say they are absolutely breathtaking. He and David (and their assistant who’s name I forget), caught every crucial moment of the ceremony and the photo shoot at Planting Fields. Telmo, the consummate professional, unfortunately, received a call in the middle of our reception, telling him that his uncle had suddenly passed away. He was completely distraught and came to find me in the bridal suite. I could see in his eyes he was just heartbroken. He told me what had happened and said he needed to leave because he was so stricken. In the same breath he told me that Jovon himself was coming to take over. I only panicked momentarily and told him that it was fine for him to go and gave him and his family my sympathies. Within seconds David was back upstairs with me and my husband, encouraging us to head outside to shoot in front of the Royalton, while we waited for Jovon. David was equally wonderful and jovial throughout the whole day, telling me I looked just like Audrey Hepburn and putting Tim and I at ease in every situation (even when we were FREEZING our rears off shooting outside at Planting Fields). Jovon showed up within moments, and we did a whole slew of pictures with (for a second time) family members. Jovon has a very different style from Telmo and after working with him for a few hours during the reception I was glad that we hadn’t chosen to go with him for our day. He has a different style of dealing with people than Telmo does and it just didn’t really gel with my personality. He has a very creative eye, but had my husband and I do some things that were just not in our characters—(they were fun poses at the time but I don’t like the way that any of those pictures came out.) He did however come up with a fantastic idea of having each table of guests come up to the dais and pose with us. It was GENIUS! We got pictures of all of our guests and didn’t have to do any of the work. It was really wonderful. We are working on getting through the two huge boxes of proofs and starting the album process (oh boy!). Oh! And no one even noticed the photographers the whole night—they had set up lights across the dancefloor to light it with the flash, but they weren’t constantly in our faces or flashing flash bulbs left and right. It was perfect. They really did a good job of capturing all the crucial parts.

HART TO HART DJ PRODUCTIONS
A
http://harttohart.com/

We had heard Hart to Hart at my brother in law’s wedding and loved the style of the MC and the DJ. They weren’t obnoxious or overly aggressive with getting people to dance, and we really liked the style of music they played. My husband did most of the work on the DJ since he used to be one himself years ago, so we had pretty high standards. We got the basic light package with a DJ and the MC. There were only a few small complaints about Hart to Hart. First, when we booked with them, we had wanted one particular MC. We booked him right away. About 2 weeks before our wedding we got a phone call from him saying that he wasn’t going to be able to do our wedding because, as it turned out, he was going to be on his honeymoon at that time. I was really upset and still am not really sure how that minor detail slipped by the owner (who we booked with.) They made it right however and offered one of their other MCs who had a similar style. We never really met with him but my husband talked with him and liked him. We gave them an EXTENSIVE “Do NOT play” list, though some of the do not plays ended up being played (though to be honest it didn’t matter THAT much and they weren’t that grevious.) There wasn’t much that could have happened that day that would have put a damper on any of it.. so…) The only other thing, was that we had to ask him to turn down the volume a couple of times during dinner because the music was just a touch too loud. Mind you, my husband and I are pretty picky about music so—these are really minor things. Overall I would definitely hire them again, or recommend them as a great DJ.

FAVORS: OUR OWN MAKING
My husband made CDs of songs that had special meaning for us for our favors. We used iTunes to pull the songs and then burned them to CDs. My husband bought a CD burner that could print images on the CD front and burned a whole bunch for about 2 weeks straight. The Royalton forgot to hand them out at the end of the night so, they (of their own accord) mailed them to guests after the fact. I have had so many people come up to me and tell me how much they really enjoyed them and how great they thought they were. It’s a great way to save money (about $300 total for 100 CDs) and really give people something they can enjoy. I mean, think of it this way… when was the last time you got a favor that you really, one, remember, and two, liked and used.

PICTURES TAKEN AT PLANTING FIELDS ARBORETUM
A+++++
This is a gorgeous setting even if its snowy or cloudy out. You need to apply for a permit to be able to shoot there, and for an additional (small) cost you can shoot in the Camilla Greenhouse. The pictures came out amazingly here. We were engaged at Planting Fields so it has special meaning for us.

DRESS:
KLEINFELDS
PRISCILLA OF BOSTON
Kleinfelds was great. I loved my dress, as all brides should—and worked with this great woman when I first went. She had me pick out a whole slew of dresses and then choose out of those, which one I wanted to try on first. Turns out her theory about “the first one you choose to put on is usually the one” really works. The dress came in and then you bring it back to the store unopened, for your first fitting. to be honest the first fitting was a nightmare. The dress came in very dusty (like soot)-- (not a fault of Kleinfelds, but the manufacturers fault) and with the covered button loops frayed. I was totally distraught, but Kleinfelds had it immediately repaired and cleaned and it came out immaculately. The girl that did my alterations was absolutely incredible. Because my dress was so simple it was much harder to alter (see image) because there was no way to hide any mistakes. I only needed 2 of the 3 fittings but made the third appt anyway just to be sure. They were great to work with and I think that every bride should have an experience at Kleinfelds (since you only get married once you should have the full “bride” experience).

FLOWER IN MY HAIR
Derrick + Dulken
Flowersinthecity.com

After the ceremony (because I wasn’t wearing a veil) I decided to buy a flower comb for my hair. I had seen this gorgeous ultrasuede gardenia in InStyle Weddings and went on a hunt for it. It took me awhile to find it (because Derrick+Dulken has a number of dead link websites) but eventually I just called them and ordered that way. The flower was beautiful and came out so well in the pictures. I love it.

Thank you for such a great review. My daughter is getting married at the Royalton in October. From the moment we stepped foot inside we knew this was the place.We also are going with Spitz and Peck. We met with Maddy and liked her immediately. I have one question. As far as he food tasting. Did you meet first to discuss the kinds of food you wanted and then meet again to taste different foods. Its funny because when I first heard of Kleinfelds I had heard really bad things about it... snotty service, tough to get an appt etc. But I never experienced any of that. They were wonderful from the get go... and they really know bridal gowns so they can really help a confused bride (Like ME!) pick the perfect dress! My hubby even cried when he saw it! (After he swore up and down that he wouldnt!) :) You look gorgeous in your dress btw!

The way we worked it --- we taste tested foods the day we signed. We told Gerard and Michael that we wanted to know what we were signing on for before we signed on the dotted line. They were incredibly accomodating and served us a smattering of different types of foods (after we gave them a rough idea of what we liked). One of the key things we wanted was the swordfish, and swordfish can be fishy if its no good... so that was a real litmus test for us. They came through with flying colors. Once you sign, you come back for another appointment and give them an idea of what you like to eat. Come with lots of ideas becuase they get really creative with the more information you give them. You are wonderful hands! My mother (who was very anti wedding) has said that she would recommend the Royalton to ANYONE looking for a place to have a wedding. She cant stop raving about it.
