How many people are getting Married at the Reception hall?
I was so excited about getting a Wedding date at the Hall that we wanted.....we forgot that it would be hard to find a Church to Marry us on a Sunday Morning!Does anyone know of a Church that might marry us on a Sunday Morning (10:30)??
We can get married at the Hall (Flowerfield in St James)....Which is quite lovely...not sure if I will be Sad that I didn't get married in a Church.
Help, Really struggling with issue...need some reassurance.

Re: How many people are getting Married at the Reception hall?
I'm getting married at my RH. It will just be a lot easier for us and that way we get to attend CH too because we are doing pics before the ceremony. Honestly I have always loved going to weddings at RH where the CH starts immediately after instead of hanging around a couple of hours between the Church and CH. JMO.

I'm getting married at my place. Our temple is too far for some and it's easier to have everything in one place - especially for the elderly.

Re: How many people are getting Married at the Reception hall?
We're getting married at the RH, but it's really a personal choice that you have to make with your FH. Don't do it if you're going to regret not getting married in church. For us, it was a matter of my FH being married once before and not having it annulled. Otherwise we'd be getting married in church. Good luck with your decision!

I would call around... or maybe try a chapel or non-denominational church - this way you get a church feel and the services are at different times.Good Luck
For LI churches
I'm doing the ceremony at the church - but it's a Saturday...

We are getting married at the hall, but we knew we would be doing that from the very beginning. Your ceremony will be beautiful either way, but if you have your heart set on getting married in a church then you should make some phone calls and see what you can do.

I'm getting married at the hall, but FH and I aren't religious, so we never even considered a church.

Re: How many people are getting Married at the Reception hall?
We got married at our hall. I would have preferred a church, but DH was married before and honestly...we still wouldn't be married if we waited for the annulment (2 years later
).Anyway, our ceremony at the hall was perfect! Not to mention you're pretty much guaranteed 100% of your guest in attendance whereas most church ceremonies are not. (I ALWAYS hated that.)

My reception hall has a chapel. It's a separate building though so it's nice. I almost feels like a church.

Re: How many people are getting Married at the Reception hall?
It's a very personal decision. We never considered getting married in a church at all. If you can your FH will be okay having your ceremony outside a church go for it. If not, look around for one that can accomodate you (although Sunday morning will be tough).

Re: How many people are getting Married at the Reception hall?
FH was married before and we didnt want to go thru the bureaucracy of the annullment so we are getting married at our place. I am perfectly happy with it...but whether or not you will regret not getting married in a church is a personal thing .

Re: How many people are getting Married at the Reception hall?
I am Jewish and FH is Catholic so we are getting married at the hall. I think if we were both the same religion I would've wanted it this way anyway.

Re: How many people are getting Married at the Reception hall?
We're getting married at the RH by a Methodist minister. I think it's the best of both worlds for us -- we will still have a religious ceremony, but we are able to have it in a setting we fell in love with!

We are getting married at our hall. My FH is not catholic. I did want to get married in the church but I knew as soon as I started dating him if we got married, it wouldn't happen. I know it's going to be beautiful either way

Re: How many people are getting Married at the Reception hall?
i wish we were getting married at the hall instead of a full mass.a catholic church probably won't allow anything in the morning on a sunday unless it's a very progressive church.
a hall ceremony is great--no need for a reception card in the invites

Re: How many people are getting Married at the Reception hall?
I'm getting married at the RH. I'm Jewish and lots of people would get married at a temple. My wedding is Sunday 12 noon, and I didn't want to have such an early temple wedding and then have people travel to the RH. We have so many out of towners too. So now we'll have a lovely arrive at 11 am, 11:30 am ceremony 12 noon cocktail hour 1 pm wedding 5 pm over... 5:30 pm party in the bar and outdoors on the golf course... Don't worry about what other people will think. You can't please everyone. This is your wedding and you should be happy and not doubt your decisions. And there's the convenience factor of having your ceremony and reception at the same place.
