Wedding band question (my ring) - Please help! (long)

Ok this is cute - FH just told me to come on here and ask this:

We are having a problem with my wedding band, and I need some advice. I got it custom made and it came out wrong, not what we talked about with the jeweler at all. I really don't like it, and I am starting to doubt they will be able make what I want. Jeweler says he can, that most people aren't so picky, and that if I want it to match any better he will need to take my E-ring for two weeks. It is now FIVE weeks to my wedding, I have a list a page long to get through and I don't trust this guy anymore since he tried to deny that they messed up.

FH's first opinion is the ring is fine but he wants me to be happy. His next opinion is 'what can go wrong' if we give them my E-ring.

I am debating: bail and try to get back our money vs. getting married in a cheap band and trying to fix this after the wedding.

Sorry this is so long, I tried to give the short story. What would you do???

Sorry to hear

I'd say first DON'T give him your e-ring!!!

Second I'd try to get your money back. It doesn't sound like this jeweler is very reputable.

OR what if you took your current ring to another jeweler to 'fix?'

I hope it works out, don't let this stress you, it will work out.

I would absolutley NOT give anyone my e-ring for 2 weeks. I also don't like that he called you 'picky'.

Def fight to get your $ back-if its so great, he could re-sell it.

Sorry if I sound hostile but this situation he put you in is awful!
BTW-could you either fm or post the jeweler? TIA

There is no way in he** I would give up my e-ring for two weeks to a jeweler who messed up my wedding band. I would fight to get a refund, or wait until after the wedding and take it to another jeweler and have the stones removed and used to make what I wanted.

Don't give him your e-ring! Alot of jewlers can make a wax mold of your ring in front of you and thne use the mold to make your wedding band. Ask if he can do that, or get your money back and find someone who will.
