Spinoff: Maggie Girls w/ Corset Backs that Lost Lot of Weight!!!
After reading BJ's thread about her dress & they told her NOT to lose anymore weight or the corset will be overlapping, I wanted to know if anyone else had this problem. Also if you did lose 'too much' weight, what did/could they do to make the corset NOT overlap.
Thanks.
Cindy
I ordered my dress a size smaller, but have since lost 30 lbs & plan on losing 15 more.

How is this possible? Cant they take the dress in from the seams at the side of the dress???

This is Bonnie's quote when she went to try on her dress:They did a hem to hollow measurement so I don't have to alter it except for stays on the bodice and the bustle. I was a bit upset when they said that it fit so well that I can't lose anymore weight or else the corset back will be overlapping. But here are pics.
I was hoping they still could bring in th seams on the side if need be.

I bet you could take it in at the seams. They probably don't usually have to do many alterations on the bodice of corset dresses because they are kind of 'self altering'. However, a good seamstress could pull out the sides and re-sew to fix.

My mother is doing the alterations on my Maggie dress w/a corset and she said it won't be a problem....you just take the dress apart at the seams on the side.Any dress can be taken apart and put back together.

Re: Spinoff: Maggie Girls w/ Corset Backs that Lost Lot of Weight!!!
I have a Maggie Sottero dress with a corset back as well. First off, the bridal suite ordered me a size too big...so from the beginning it was overlapping. To make it worse I have lost weight. When I went for my dress fitting she took about an inch off on both sides and the back was just the way I wanted it. I asked the seemstress to take off another quater inch on both side incase I lost more weight, there will still be a gap in the corset. She said fine and I don't think it was a problem.

I was going to post about the same thing! I have lost around 10 since I ordered and want to lose 15 more but they ordered it in what was suppose to be my size at that time. They said when I ordered it that with the corset I could be pulled in up to 2 sizes.
Now I'm worried.

Here's a link to a Maggie Sottero sizing chart (you can use it for other designers if you want).Take some measurements and see which size would best fit. Unfortunately since we all lose weight differently, it's the measurements that count not the total lbs....

I ordered my dress a size smaller too and lost about 10 pounds when I went to try on the dress when it came in and the size fit perfect... so ten pounds?
