Tipping advice again!! Help!
We are getting married next Friday and are clueless on the tipping. I paid the church $500.00 do I still need to tip the priest? organist? soloist? Do I tip the video guy and photgrapher? I am paying alot for them to eat a full meal. Do I tip the band members? And finally the Maitre D and bridal attendant, how much? Thanks

Tipping advice again!! Help!
Hi, I am getting married in a few weeks and was wondering the same thing. We are paying enough for the DJ,Video, and Photographer and paying for them to eat. So I was wondering how much is appropriate. I was reading on a website that $25-50 is appropriate....then I have also heard of people tipping like $100 for each person providing the service which I think is a little too much if u ask me. I'm April 20th......
We decided to give the DJ and Photograper $50 each. The MD, captain (only at the Watermill I think!) and the bridal attendant will get $100 each. I heard you have to tip the priest, but I don't know how much either. Am I forgetting anyone??? Lisa

Tipping
I tipped everybody, even after all the money we had already shelled out to everybody!! A lot of people say that if any of your vendors are the owners and are doing it themselves, then you don't have to tip them, but I felt funny about that and tipped both my hairdresser & makeup artist, who were working off the books on their own. I've only been married almost 6 mos and do you believe that I can't remember exactly? I think we gave the MC/DJ around $50 or $75; my hairdress $25 and my makeup girl $25; somebody tipped the flower delivery guy, I don't know how much; the BM and my husband BOTH tipped the limo guy, even though the tip was included in the contract (nice communication there, huh?), all I know is that he ended up with about $100; the photographer and his asst. (his son) we gave either $50 or $75; the bridal attendants $200 (there were 2 major ones and 2 assts. -- I had no captain, whatever that is); the videographer we tipped about $50. Did I leave anybody out?

Your reception site can tell you what is customary for their staff. As a 'general guide' I have heard $1 per guest for Bridal Attend, $2 -$3 for MD. DJ, Photo, Video $50.00 and up unless its thier own business, Limo tip is usually listed in the contract. For Priests - remember they dont earn much so please dont think of it as a tip its more of a gift for their services. I have heard that some officients charge as much as $500.00 for a service. Give what you feel is appropriate.

What we did
We were married last September and had $75.00 guests. We tipped the maitre'd $225 ($3 per person),$50 for the Bridal attendant, $25 each for DJ and MC, $25 each to make-up and hair people(even though both work for themselves I was so thrilled with how I looked they deserved it), nothing for the limo (rotten service or I would have tipped). The floral designer owns her own business as do our photographers so we did not tip them.

First of all WHERE ARE YOU GETTING MARRIED that they charge full price for Dj & Such..they are charging us 1/2 price..No matter where we went that is the deal..(Scotto Bros esp)..You are paying 500 for the church..hope it is a mass..The organist and the 'BOYS' get tipped at least 50 a person..Everyone should get an envelope made out before your wedding and the Maid of honour or best man can hand them out that day..You will be SOOOOOO b/z that you'll end up looking like you forgot..Don't forget the limo drivers!!
