how much is reasonable to spend on a garter? (edited to add pic)

I've found some really cute police themed ones (FH is a cop), but they run around $30... does that sound like a lot? Especially considering nobody really sees it... How much did/would you spend?

also, just out of curiousity, what kind of garter are you getting? Any kind of special theme? Satin? Lacey? Just plain white or a plain solid color?

I want to consider all my options before I buy! Thanks!

thanks ladies! Sorry for all the posts tonight... I'm procrastinating writing my paper

just for sh*ts and giggles, here's a pic of the garter I'm considering. I'd probably order it in royal blue rather than navy. What do you all think? Go with this one, or look around for something more generally wedding themed? (like hearts or just blue or something)

Re: how much is reasonable to spend on a garter?

I think $30 is reasonable. I would say anything under $50 would be a right match for me. If the police themed garter is going to provide you with a meaningful memory or a little bit of humor on your wedding day I would say go for it!

Re: how much is reasonable to spend on a garter?

I got mine with a Mets theme because Nick is a huge fan. I spent about $30. I got the Mets one and a throw away one for that price. I don't know if it was a lot or not, but I knew how much he'd like that so I got it.

I'm going to be getting a Steelers one, because thats Darren's favorite football team. I already have my throw away. The garter is 35 bucks. He's gonna get a REAL kick out of it. He has NO idea!!

It's cute. Sure, if you wanted to DIY you could probably get a plain one for much cheaper and add something too it to make it more meaningful. However, not being terribly crafty myself, I'm thinking about spending about the same $30ish on a redskins garter for FH. I'm a huge Giants fan and he loves the redskins....I thought it would be cute

$30 is reasonable because it means something to you and FH.

thanks! I found her ebay store, she's got some great stuff on there!
I'm still torn though between that and spending a little extra for the cop one, which would be a bit more meaningful... ack! Yet another decision to make...
