Making time for family and friends

I feel like ever since we got back from our honeymoon, I can't keep up with staying in touch with everyone. Work's taken up a lot of time, DH is busy with school - there are just so many friends and family members, that we only seem to be able to spend time with them during holidays and family get togethers.

I was okay dealing with my own set, but adding an extra set of family and friends makes it that much more difficult.

Are you all experiencing this too? For the more experienced newlyweds, does it get easier?

Re: Making time for family and friends

we've been married almost a year, and it does get easier... we're lucky though, becasue DH is an only child, so its really just his parents we have to worry about seeing.... the rest of him family is waaaay out in the middle of PA, so if we go out there once a year to see them, they're happy
my parents and sister live 2 hours away, so like once a month, we'll go down a stay a weekend- i work at a school, so i have a lot of other breaks too that i can go down and see them....
the toughest part was thanksgiving, becasue DH wanted to go out to PA to see his aunts/uncles/cousins, and i wanted to see my family.... so we ended up doing A LOT of driving, but we survived.
as far as friends, we don't have different groups of friends- we have one big group, so we usually see all of them at once, or go out with a couple of them at a time..
i think it definitely gets easier, and you figure out what works out best for everybdoy....

Re: Making time for family and friends

I know how you feel. even though DH and I lived together b4 we got married, since the wedding we just want to be alone all the time. weekends are so short and precious.
