Ladies who have cury/wavy hair and your Hair style for your big day

Hi Girls,
I wanted to know how you all feel about having your hair straightned for your wedding. I recently had a hair trial and it looked like it was schalacked (sp). Since my hair is curly it looked so unnatural and not me. Did anyone else have this issue?

I have curly/wavy hair. I am going to grow it out and attempt to do a 1/2 updo. I think I might have them blow it out and then curl it. Sounds nuts, but I think the curls would look neater than my natural ones.

Yes, after getting the up-do chigon that I LOVED I thought it looked too stiff and un natural so now I am looking at some half up and downs to keep it nautral. There really aren't that many styles to chose from though even after searching the threads on here...

I Have naturally curly hair, almost like telephone wire curls,, & To boot its extremely think.. I have a mop of a head of hair.. You can see by my album pics i blow it staright. Usually I can get more days outta it if i do that.

If i wear it curly its way to 80's ,,LOL

For my day im wearing it blown out straight, Ill have the girl put a iron to it, but thats the route im going,,

Up-do's look very polished/unnatural even for girls with straight her. My hair is curly and on the thick side. I decided that I am going with the curls and having it half up/half down. I haven't done a trial yet. I'm hoping for the best!

I completely agree --although I dont know if I will wear it 1/2 or all up.

Re: Ladies who have cury/wavy hair and your Hair style for your big day

I have very thick, curly hair. My whole life I struggled with up-dos until I found a hair stylist that suggested that I come with my hair a little dirty (washed a day before - bc my hair is dry) and straightened already. This was the best advice ever - and I now get an updo with my hair already straightened from the day before. My hair will then STAY - and can be curled with a curly iron - yea - its a long process - a little bit annoying - but def well worth it!

I am going to have my hair all up for the day of the wedding - I love the half up half down do, I had that for my e-party - and I just feel that all-up is more elegant, classier - and also i wont have to worry abt the straightened/curled hair getting frizzy, starting to curl up, and/or getting in my way while dancing

embrace the curls!
Well, maybe you should not straighten it completely. Have them straighten your hair and then recurl it to give your hair softer romantic curls...

Re: Ladies who have cury/wavy hair and your Hair style for your big day

I have the thickest curly/frizzy hair ever!! haha I'm not sure how i'm wearing it... definitely straightened, with possible curls put in with curling iron and then sprayed so stiff that it doesn't move haha. I'll either do all up or half up. I think most likely half up since I think my hair will be too heavy all up. Also depends on the dress i choose & what style looks best with it. I get the Japanese straightening process done every 7 months or so... so i won't really need to actually blow it out...

I am going to do half up half down with curls. I had a trial and loved the way it came out

Mine is extremely curly...I most likely will wear a chignon...but blow it straight the day before so it is smoother.

If my hair was down or half up......it would frizz and become a from within hours....

Yea, when I get dressed up, I usually blow it out and then curl it- I'll probably just pull it away from my face

Re: Ladies who have cury/wavy hair and your Hair style for your big day

Yeah i definitely wouldn't straighten it, everyone is usually trying to curl their hair and we are blessed with it already. I am wearing mine half up. I think that will look really nice with the veil and everything.
