FMIL is driving me crazy with RD!!!!

FMIL is driving me crazy with RD!!!!

Originally we planned to have bbq at IL's house. Now, she changes her mind and says she wants a restaurant (an expensive one at that!) So now I give her the guest list for the RD and its 47 people, all of which are partaking in the wedding in some way or another. And she said 'no, that's too much!' How can I cut out people who have a role in the wedding???? She wants only the BM's, GM's, parents and me and FH! So what do I do with the other people at the rehearsal??? Tell them 'thanks for coming for the run thru but there's no food for you!?!?!?!?!?!'

That is a tough one. Explain to you FMIL why all these people are needed at the rehearsal and hopefully she will understand and pick a less expensive restaurant.

im assuming she is paying? you cant have ppl at the rehersal and than not invite them to the dinner i agree w/ you there! i say have your FI talk to his mom and say this is how it has to be! If $$ is a factor than she will need to have it at a less expensive resturant

That is too funny. I was having very similar issues with FIL's. Good luck sorting through it. Paying yourself is an option!

IMO if she is insisting on having it in a restaurant instead of as a bbq like ou had originally planned, then she has no right to chop down your list. Plus she is picking the restaurant, so she really should not be concerning you with her problems with the cost. Maybe offter to pay for some of the others as a buffer? Also explain to her that people are taking time out to be a part of your celebration, and that they need to be honoured like the BMs GM, etc.

she'll be insulted if i tell her that i'm going to pay for it. my parents offered to pay for it but FH says this is the one thing that his side gets to take care of and that's why they picked the restaurant instead of a bbq. but it's making so many problems. i'm still confused...
