Re: Repost NWR Teachers
It is SOOOO hard to find a teaching job - I have a strong autism background, and schools posting for autism classes never even called me - strange - the entire resume had autism written all over it - very frustrating... That is here, and I lived in Vermont for a few years - very hard - luckily I was able to find work as a consultant

Re: Repost NWR Teachers
I'm sorry you're having such a hard time. If you can't find anything, I suggest looking for a job in a district as a permanent sub. Hopefully you can get a leave replacement and get your foot in the door.

Re: Repost NWR Teachers
NC definitely needs teachers, i think theres a shortage. new schools are popping up all over the state as its developjing rapidly. we are moving to charlotte, NC right after the wedding. i will be attending grad school there for school counseling. i already know the LI job market for school counselors is near impossible, so we are moving now to plant our roots early on. good luck! ~Lacey

Re: Repost NWR Teachers
Have you tried going through BOCES websites? You may be able to apply to dozens of school at once.Elementary is really difficult on Long Island. NYC is always looking, but since you're new you may be placed in some of the most 'difficult' schools.

Re: Repost NWR Teachers
i student taught in Virginia, they need teachers but the pay is horrible!be a permanent sub--that's how i got my start. it could lead to leave replacements which is how you get your foot in the door. go to brooklyn--a lot of LI districts hire tons of NYC teachers.

I worked in East new york Brooklyn for two years before I got any job offers out on LI. Those were the best two years of my life. they were hard as hell, but I got so much out of it.
