Is it me, or do most of the makeup trial pics people post look the same?

Im SURE people are going to hate on me for this post.. but everytime I see 'Makeup trial, pics included' post I get excited to see the girls... they all look GORGEOUS. Definitely. But I feel like 98% of them got the same makeup from their artist. Frosty pinkish reddish brown eyeshadow up to their eyebrows, some with fake lashes and natural looking blush.

I wear makeup but I dont know much about it. Is this just a general look that looks good on everyone?

Im just bitter about the prices they charge for makeup and none of them seem extremely tailored to the brides.

I agree with what you are saying! All of the brides to be a BEAUTIFUL and I can't stress that enough, but I did notice that a lot of the colors used are similar. But I guess that has to do with we see a lot of the same used make-up artists over and over here. Their work is great, but they use a lot of the same colors.

Ahhhh.........I'm so scared people are going to hate on this! I sincerely mean it's not to though. It's just an observation. EVERYONE LOOKS BEAUTIFUL!

I just figured if I was forking over the big bucks I would get makeup that was really tailored to my coloring and stuff. Like I have smaller eyes than I would like and want someone that can make them bigger. I dont think frosty pinkish redish eyeshadow to my eyebrows is going to do that.

Like I said, Im no makeup expert, so maybe that is just the look that works with photography?

That is why I went in and told them specifically the colors I wanted used and that I couldn't have any shiny eye shadow because it doesn't look good on me. I didn't want to spend a lot of money on a trial for no reason so I was very vocal about what I liked and didn't like.

I've actualy seen a variety of different trials- I think when you go to someone you should tell them what you want and see if they deliver~!

I just wanted the natural look which I think alot of brides are going for lately.... I didnt get fake eyelashes though because I have pretty full ones as it is.

I got my make up trial three time by three different people and I looked like a corpse with lips. It was horrible. I am doing my own make up. Here's a tip. If your eyes are small, use light colors. If you go to ULTA, Studio Gear sells great eye color called Stardust. I just bought the green and champagne. If you brush it from the inner corner of your eye up to the brow line and across the middle it opens you eyes up and gives it a great sparkle for pics. You may also add a soft black eyeliner and work from the outside corner in stopping just before the middle (don't smuge for the smokey look it makes them look smaller) Use a fine pencil and go easy on the mascara. For the bottoms use an angle brush in your Stardust eye color and make a thin line from the inner corner out. I hope I helped!

Hi-five lady! I know exactly WHO you are talking about... its so true. everyone raves about her, but I feel like Ive seen enough pics that *I* could do makeup just like her!

That is so funny, I know I have discussed this before with some brides.

I also agree, but not to say that they don't look pretty but all just like ROBOTS.

When I went for my trial , I was very very very vocal about what I wanted.. I dont really wear much make up . I dont even own a bottle of foundation, so when I say i dont wear much I dont. A lil bronzer & lips ,, Thats it for me,,

So when I went I expalied that to her & made it clear i didnt want a glam, made over look..

I prob could have done it myself as well, but to be honest , afetr all the year of planning , i wanted someone to cater to me for that day.. LOL

But i think i know who you guys are refereing to. She does really do great work,, If you tell her pink, she does pink, if u tell her orange, heck she will do orange too.. I think that most the pics weve seen are of girls like me , who didnt want alot of makeup & wanted that natural look, thats why the colors look the same,,

I know who you ladies are referring too as well. Some ppl. may like a certain style of makeup and some may not. That is why you get your makeup trials and book someone that you feel is a best fit for you. Good Luck w/all your trials.

Same here! But I never wear eye makeup (except mascara, which is a staple for me) - so that look would definitely NOT look natural...

Its funny because I was JUST having this coversation with FH before this post was here...

Its very true - be vocal like Toni said - and either go on different trials or do research on what you like...

I think another reason for this is that we look at each other's trial pics and bring these make-up artists pics that we like or that we want to look like...therefore, you can end up with the same colors because they are trying to re-create that look for you.

I also think that we are all going for more natural and less glam with lends itself to fewer colors being used.

I think that you need to be vocal, tell them what colors you want and get the look that you are going for.

IMO, these ladies who have booked who they did were happy with the work, so in that case I think it is an individual choice.

We have to remember, when these ladies go for make-up trials I am sure they walk in and say what they want and if they are not happy, they don't book them.

With Weddings, most want to look natural and I think this 'Person' we are all referring to has done exactly that. Yes, there are so many with brown, pinks, etc..., but then again I don't know who I have seen come back from a make-up trail yet with blues, purples or anything else for that matter with any trial.
I could be mistaken, but I think every make-up artist has been using the same colors.

JMO but, I think this 'Person' is extremely talented from what I have seen.
