Did you count people as coming if they told you word of mouth?
Or did you insist on getting the RSVP back? My RSVP date was Monday and people are calling me apologizing for missing the deadline and swear that they are coming. Should I just mark them on the list?

I didn't! I told anyone that told me by mouth that I needed the actual RSVP card in my hand!!

My MOM told me she is coming by word of mouth. I think she is just being a pest about not sending the RSVP. I think it's pretty safe if I mark my parents down as coming.

i would say yes, mark them as coming. if they don't, they are still responsible for letting you know

I did. Some people are just plain irresponsible.

Re: Did you count people as coming if they told you word of mouth?
NOPE. still not. here's a perfect example of why:FMILs aunt called her and told her who was and wasn't coming...and FMIL expected me to remember and record this info. i did no such thing. well, one of the couples did say no formally...fine. get this, the aunt told FMIL she WAS DEFINITELY coming...last night she called again to say she wasn't sure!!! and this is why i only accept the card (until june 10th when i start harassing people)!

No, I am not. I figure until I get the response back it is proof of a yes or no! But i have an idea on some people!

yes. at some point I just had to give up on the RSVPs and start calling. If they said they were coming, I put them as a yes.

Yup, I was dead set against it, but after the RSVP date came and went, Icaved in and started accepting the phone calls.

unfortunately, we didn't have much of a choice. DH's brother and a few of his cousins responded word of mouth.I guess the self stamped RSVP card was just too much for them to handle
