Bachelorette Party Suggestion/Review
Last night was a friend's bachelorette party, and we rented La Rumba Express ( http://larumbaexpress.com), aka The Chicken Bus, and had the driver take us all around Manhattan. It was SO much fun. You have to rent for a minimum of 5 hours, so we went to dinner and had the bus pick us up at 9. The seating in the bus is all around the border, and it's decorated with sombreros, marachas, a stuffed chicken, hammocks and a ton of other stuff. There was a saddle on one side of the bus that was frequently used, and I'm not looking forward to the pictures . They provide coolers, and they were even nice enough to pick up the beer and ice for us so we didn't have to go in search of a liquor store. We made a couple of hours of mixed CDs on someone else's suggestion, and it was such a great idea. It worked out perfectly.
For the bars, we made a list of bars and numbered them. We started at Barcelona Bar, which is a shot bar where you have to dress up to the theme of the shot, so the bride did a BJ shot which they call the Monica Lewinsky shot, so she had to put a wig on. Another did the Top Gun shot and put on aviator glasses, and they put on the theme song from the movie. Too funny. After that we had the bride randomly pick a number, and we went to bar that matched her number. So last night we hit:
La Palapa - for dinner, really yummy! Cocktail Lounge - this is the actual name, at least outside, and it's next to La Palapa. It's really a hole in the wall, but a well known hole in the wall. It was pretty much our speed Barcelona Bar Metro 53 - a little cheesy, but we had fun dancing Red Rock West - it's like a Coyote Ugly. They made the bride and a few of us BMs get on the bar. Again, not looking forward to the pictures . Oh, and the bartenders did a fire show! Down The Hatch - usually a good time, but there were about 20 cops in there raiding the bar. Some were really nice, others made us feel unwelcome even though we're 26/27. Red Lion - Good time. They had a live band coming on, but our bus time was running out and the bride was itching to sing. Sing Sing - this is a karaoke place, but the wait to sing was an hour and the bride wasn't making it that much longer. The bartenders wouldn't let her jump in, and weren't too friendly.
Overall a great night. I HIGHLY recommend the bus, and if you do it, spread your bars out so you get some good time on the bus.. We had our own dance party, and it was such a great time - other than the sketchy guys that kept following to bus trying to take a peak at what was going on inside - really buddy, you've never seen girls dance before?! We didn't get any karaoke in, but I promised her I'd take her another weekend.

Re: Bachelorette Party Suggestion/Review
It's definitely something I'd do again. A few of us were even talking about renting it on a random night and just getting a group of friends together. It's not cheap, but I thought it was worth it. They have the pricing on the website. I'll try to post some pictures of the bus.
