we did black top, khaki bottom (though none of the pics showed the bottom.) To make it a little different, i wore a short sleeved sweater and he wore a polo.

How about this idea -- v neck sweaters in different colors with a white button down underneath? I love that look but it didn't work for us b/c we didn't want to buy new stuff.

we had jeans that were similiar in color, but he wore grey and i wore blue(so i am lighter in the pics, but i wanted a contrast and didnt want to match too much)

Our photographer made the following suggestions:

Solid colors--patterns are distracting

No to sleeveless--even the thinnest woman's arm can look flabby if positioned badly

No sunglasses a few hours before the pictures--they can leave little red 'dents' on your nose.

Photos should be taken in early evening or morning so no one is squinting in the sun (or sweating!)

Clean shave for the guys that morning

Colors that complement each other, but guy and girl do not have to match

We just got our proofs and they came out awesome, so his tips worked for us!

I don't have mine here, but I'll post some when I get home tonight. One tip we got was to make sure whatever yo wear isn't too trendy- you don't want the pics to be too dated and look at them in a couple of years and think 'what the hell was I wearing?!'

I got mine done at Sears, I wanted to do it somewhere outdoors but FH HATES taking pics (complete opposite of me I'm a picture ham)
and he compromised on doing this so I took what I could get. They came out ok, some better than others but beggars can't be choosers right?lol
