the funniest thing...anyone who needs a good FMIL laugh

So my FMIL invited everyone under the sun. I knew there were people she barely talks to on that list because she didn't even know someone's first name! That in itself is funny.

BUT....
The kicker was today, when I was opening response cards. One of them had no yes or no, just a 'this invitation was sent to us by mistake. Mazel Tov.'

Now, if this were anyone else, I'd believe it were just an error. But knowing what she did, I'm willing to bet this is someone she met once or twice. ...

I can't wait to see her face when I tell her...


So...
Now I've told her. Unfortunately I only had the opp to do it on the phone. She just went silent and then got a 'huh?' then she tell FFIL who says: 'FMIL, they don't know you.' Now, you'd think that she'd be embarrased enough and let it go. Nope. She's going to call these people up to explain who she is (turns out this person is her mother's cousin.)

Hello! JMO, but if someone doesn't recognize your name, they shouldn't be invited. And if you invite them and they actually SAY they don't know you, then why the heck would you call them up afterwards to explain?????

I know the feeling!!!!! Mine didn't know the husband's or the formal names of many people...she'd be like, that's Jimmy and Suzy. and i'd be like, well, is it james and suzanne? and of course she'd say: i don't know. does it matter???

oh that is funny! I never understood how people would invite anyone and everyone to their wedding!!! I mean come on... haven't you ever been invited to a wedding and thought... why?!?!?!

thats hilarious!!! luckily my FMIL knows her role....she tried adding some ppl to the guest list for the eparty and i shut them up real quick

yes.
one wedding we went to, a guy at the table seemed a bit 'odd' so someone asked how he knew the family....he says (i am NOT kidding): 'i was the best man in *sue's* first wedding' *sue* was the step-mother of the groom (groom's mom died, step-mom was divorced).

That's hysterical!!!!!! We had someone my FMIL invited that sent the response card that they were UNABLE to attend. That's fine, but in their generosity & politeness, they sent us a check to me & FH with the WRONG last name! Guess she doesn't know my FMIL that well, huh? She should at least know her last name & her son's!!! We're just gonna change the last name if it's legal. Too funny!
